KJ's contribution because of Dion, CJ and Southworth's play, but there
were several times when we were in trouble in the first half and he came down and hit a very big bucket with their crowd going nuts. He played a very big role in our win albeit a little quietly.

He also went to the bucket strong and got fouled when State tied it at 50 in the 2nd half. He made both free throws. I think that was the only time all night we made both free throws. KJ played very well tonight

That was a big time play. We needed some points badly and he made it happen with his feet. Picking his drives with a lot more care this year.

I agree; Joseph must have been the player of the game. He made some very difficult shots (and his second-half free throws were huge, especially after Triche, Williams, and Fab went up there throwing bricks).

Joseph had one second-half drive after a big lane opened up for him. He went left and threw up a bad fadeaway instead of making a strong move to the hoop (as we've seen too many times). He followed that with a drive and a dunk and a strong drive to the right and a made lay-up. It's great to see him successfully adjust like that. Very smart offensive game for Joseph (and a nice job jumping the near-side passing lanes in the second half).

One of Joseph's biggest contributions IMO is his senior leadership. We've had past teams with a lot of talent that imploded due to poor team chemistry.

KJ looked fantastic. I normally am not a big believer that KJ will have much of an NBA career, but he looked like an NBA player to me last night. Great moves to the basket, good outside shot, good defense, great attitude. Impressive.

He did it again at the end of the game.

but the FT shooting (we started 2/8, i think made our last 5...) and the transition d was the only reason nc state was in the game at all in the 2nd half.

I'm turning on KJ. I thought he was just a good college forward but not the star-quality player everybody wanted him to be. Now I'm thinking they might be right.

Best all around offensive game I've seen from him in a while...very solid. He also could of had a couple of easy break-away dunks if had been able to get full possession of them near steals...

+1
LGO!

If KJo could add a solid mid-range game, he'd be almost unstoppable at the college level.

I'd love to see him be able to drive on a player, and make a step-back, pull up 10 to 12 footer on a consistent level.

Carmelo was such a great player because he KILLED teams with his mid range game.

He was the quiet leader last nite, showing hustle with a lot of tipped passes & disruption of their offense. He wanted the ball toward the end and scored points on several possessions after SU wound the clock down. Dion provided the drama but KJ brought poise & leadership. It was a great combo.

Shenexon, yes, that is a very nice and accurate description... Dion provides the flash, but it is KJ who is the true leader for the youngsters. I think Scoop also provides some leadership as well. Scoop also played a terrific game last night. He hit two big threes back to back in the second half to step on their necks and put it away.

KJ, Scoop, and Dion were the money players last nite and I think are establishing themselves as the leaders of this team. KJ & Scoop made their smartest plays in the "4th quarter" and came away with points on most possessions. All three hit important shots to deflate any hope NC State had of making a late run. I'm really starting to love this team. They can play poorly for a stretch, then dominate at will with their intensity.
