Its on scout but i dont have a subscription, id assume its us uk and gtown ?

It's between UK and SU and has been that way for half a year.

I do find it interesting that Georgetown made the list. I never got the feeling anyone other than maybe UConn or UNC would make the final three along with us and UK, so them vaulting over those teams after one visit is definitely interesting.

Don't like that 2nd visit to UK though (official). I know it was different circumstances but last time I remember a big time recruit making a second visit was the Tobias Harris detour to Volunteer country on his way home from Atlanta. Hopefully we'll get another shot with an official too, but who knows since he has been here like 3 times already and only to UK the one time.

question for you all...we got Xmas who JB and many of us think is a better 5 than a 4; we got DC2 coming in who plays well as a 5 back to basket; we got Keita who with 15 more pounds may be pretty good...Xmas has demonstrated rebounding and blocking ability and can score; DC2 can rebound and is probably the most offensive center we could have; and Keita should be probably good defensively next year. Where does Nerlens play and what happens to the guys mentioned above?

If coleman committed to uk yiu would think we woud be the clear favorites, funny how things shakeout

and dont forget KY has nobody for Nerlens to compete against...we have a fairly talented group coming in...so Nerlens assention to starter on KY and GT may be a heck easier than coming to 'Cuse

I would think Keita would be down for being redshirted next year if Noel comes. He and Xmas both can play either the 4 or the 5 so they could be interchangeable with Coleman as a 5.

Ive always had in my head hes a uk lean but well see

I'm with you, as I think there's probably been a little too much negative pub this year for us, in addition to the latest news regarding NN's less than stellar support team, but I'm curious why he hasn't committed yet. Perhaps, that's what he will do on his official.

Next Year:

C- Xmas, Coleman, Keita
PF- Fair/Southerland
SF- Southerland/Grant
SG- Triche/Cooney
PG- MCW/Triche

UK seems to make a lot more sense to me.

We really could use another SF/PF type.

NN is that PF... At SU PF and SF are interchangeable...

With Noels either Keita, DC, or Rak will lose some minutes because CJ and James are upperclassmen and will get some minutes together in a smaller lineup with their length.
Its as sure as Triche and Scoop starting this year.

Without Noels either DC or Keita will move to the 4 I think. Rak may be undersized compared to someone like Melo but he has MORE THEN PROVEN that he gets up so high for a center off a two foot standstill. Rak recovers well to battle for boards for a center in the 2-3 zone also. He has the hands and toughness to hang on to rebounds and not be pushed around as well.

When you got four bigs though 2 will be tried out at the four for 3/4 of the year with your low post scoring big getting good minutes and your offensive high post threat getting good minutes to accomidate him. Hopefully your high and low post scorer aren't the same player, and the other three bring no offense. Thats simple basketball 101 though.

I can't understand why we didn't try Rak at the four all year. I have posted that all year. Although I am sure JB has a reason why it never has been tried this year, my guessing is this...

I think it all had to do with Melo at the 5.
1. Melo was our low post scorer and JB ran everything around his offense.
2. That being said we weren't going with another low post threat and Rak showed signs of a high post offensive game Keita didn't.
3. Keita doesn't have the weight he must not go around bigs off the dribble well and doesn't have the wieght to back them down high post. Although take note Keita has showed possible life signs of a hook shot and 10 foot jumper the last few years.

I can understand not going with a 3 guard lineup it would create defensive mismatches in our zone and we would have to outscore them but Keita is tall enough to play the four and he wouldn't create defensive lapses. He also covers ground well, chases people down, knows how to slide, takes charges, goes to the rim for weakside rebounds, gets off the ground quick to block shots, and is a clean up man.

This grant guy could surprise alot of heads next year even if we grab Noels. Hopefully some of his friend at ND shooting touch has rubbed off on him.

Completely agree.. I see Noel as more of a 4. Super athletic on the wing of the zone. He could def play both, but with Rak next year at 5 (his better position) i think we play Noel at 4 mostly if we land him. This would suck for JS or CJ but both could still play major minutes. Maybe Kieta will redshirt

Lineup w/Noel:
1- MCW/Triche
2-Triche/Cooney
3-Fair/Southerland
4-Noel/Southerland
5-XMAS/Noel/DC2

I have the feeling that he is another Anthony Davis... Comes down to us and UK and UK wins.

on defense.
My guess is he knows where he's going.

Perhaps when Rak was playing PF, but yesterday with James and KJ, they run similiar sets on offense. Now NN is not a jump shooter, so I agree with you there.

Except when Rick played along side Arinze... yeah, the year I'm referring to is when we were also a 1 seed and lost in the sweet 16 (ouch). Rick was a classic PF, particularly that year. However, in general, I agree with you.

He seems to me like Kentucky all the way, but man, if he came to Syracuse, I don't even know what I'd do. I just hope Fair and Southerland continue getting better. If Southerland just worked on ball-handling and not shooting every single time he touches the ball, he'd be a very good starter in my opinion.
