our schedule was too hard and the per play numbers were too bad for it to make a huge difference here
but look at northwestern
9-3 with the 99th ranked per play offense and 24th on defense. That shouldn't add up to 9-3 but it does
they're second in 4th down attempts and conversions (we're first)
they're 6% better than opponents per play and 13% better per game. they manufacture more plays by keeping the ball
no reason we can't flip this script, be good on offense and not disastrously bad on defense.
