We likely won’t be as bad as some expected when we said we may not win a game in the league. We definitely aren’t as bad as Miam and BC. We probably aren’t as bad as UVA and Virginia Tech. We probably will finish around .500. There’s 10 teams 3-4 or worse in the conference. There’s 9 teams 9-9 or worse. We are near the top of that list.

Clemson will be tough, but after that 9 out of our last 12 games are with teams in that group not playing good basketball. At this point a winning record in league wouldn’t surprise me. It would be full of empty wins

I looked at the schedule last night and somehow talked myself into 8 more wins.

We are squarely off the ACC bubble with Miami, Cal/UVA, and BC likely being left out. Nonetheless, we gotta get over that Quad II / III hump. Bart Torvik does a good job visualizing that data if you select Quadrant View in the Trend Stat menu: T-Page for Syracuse - Customizable College Basketball Tempo Free Stats - T-Rank For now, we’re just loading up on cupcakes and have nothing of substance to our record. We’re still going to be double digit dogs in about 5 games despite the conference sucking. We’re also objectively playing better than we were a month ago so that’s something

SMU scoring 117 points against Miami in regulation yesterday is just bonkers in a 40 minute college game.

We aren’t beating Duke and likely won’t win Tuesday. We probably won’t win at Pitt, but I think we have a chance because they are no great shakes either. UNC at the dome may be our best chance for a decent win, but they aren’t exactly very good either. We could finish 12-8 in the league with no good wins.

Yep.

Yesterday was our best win of the season, but it’s still not a good win.

No quad 1 or 2 wins.

Take the wins where you can get them, but more than likely this is our story.

Play with pride. See if we can snag an upset somewhere. Try to avoid a dumb loss.

Is what it is. Still the worst Cuse team since I’ve been watching them, but try to finish stronger than you started.

By far the worst conference we’ve been in. Our ceiling is the least terrible of the terrible.

I can’t believe Miami, they’re just 2-3 years removed from an Elite 8 and a Final Four and all of the sudden they’re dreadful like they were when they first joined the Big East way back when

This conference has ONE job: be great at men's basketball. And they've failed miserably.

Last year they had 2 teams ranked when the regular season ended. Year before that: 3 (and none higher than 13). Year before that? Two.

And this season will likely be one.

EIGHTEEN teams and one of them ranked.

If they continue to make improvements and are able to get Donnie back, I think there’s a possibility to go 11-9 in the ACC. A lot would have to go right for that to happen and more improvements made. It probably won’t happen but it could. Wins over Pitt (home), Cal (away), BC (home), Miami (away), UNC (home), NC State (home), Va Tech (away), Virginia (home).

Losses to Clemson (away), Stanford (away),
Duke (home), Pitt (away), SMU (away).

I don’t expect Freeman back. He’s likely going to need surgery on his foot per Matt Park.

Much like JB's latter years, some have used the few teams who have done well in the NCAA to mask how bad the conference has been.

Yep. The commish better have the come to Jesus moment with all the programs. This is an insane level of underachievement by about 80 percent of the teams in this league.

I Hate Pitt. But, they are not as bad as some have said on here. They've lost close games in 3 out of their 4 losses and took Louisville to ot the only team that boat raced them was Duke. IMO they are a better " team" then syracuse, there's no complaining at each other hand gestures at teammates and all are engaged and listening to Capel during timeouts.

Definitely a shot if they take how they played the last 25 minutes of the game yesterday.. only thing different I'd put is at California (loss) and home Pitt loss..
