Not only are we in

I don't see this iteration Hoo's team as that strong, they are very good and balanced, but they have stumbled a bit. They just jumped the Orange when they were at their weakest, time for payback.
Okay... this Virginia team is not as great as some other Virginia teams recently I agree. And if your point was to beat them in the tournament after they gave us a beat down regular season, like we did with unc last year, then okay sounds good. But unc last year, was a bad team. Virginia this year, is a good team. That was my point.

Clemson loses we beat Virginia might be enough to jump them. got crushed by cuse, gt, VT, fla state on the road. no good road wins. did all their work at home

Agreed. It's all this Tony Bennett worship is getting under my skin. "He's the best coach in the country", "His teams are so focused and well coached", " He's so cool and good looking in a blazer", " I wish I was Mrs. Tony Bennett and bearing his children". Makes me want to barf somedays.

well, he IS a fantastic coach and by all accounts one of the classiest coaches in a sport filled with scumbags.

No chance. They beat Alabama, Maryland, Mississippi State, and Purdue out of conference. They also beat Florida State UNC and I believe Louisville in conference. They are very safely in.

here is how freaking stupid the Quad system is:

home wins over Clemson, NC and Va Tech are all Quad 2
If we had gone on the road and beaten 13-10 Bowling Green, that is also a Quad 2 win

the committee has to look at the actual wins in each quad, we have some very nice wins that are designated as Q2.
Wait a minute, logic needs to be applied here?

By memory, sounds reasonable. Can this be fact checked?

It's correct. (Pending UNC becoming Quad 1)

It's true, I don't think it's necessarily as compelling an argument as he may. It shows that ACC isn't all that great, it only has 2 teams in the top 30 of the NET. Plus the grouping of teams that qualify for quad 1 games is a lot larger for road games (top 75 vs top 30).

Losing the FSU home game hurts. (That was home, wasn't it?)

Not to be Debbie Downer, and apologies if it has been posted here, but we have to hope this doesn't drop NC State from 68 to 76 or higher in the NET rankings.

If it does, we lose our only Q1 win. :(

Until we beat UVa tomorrow. :)
What happens to our Clemson win with the Miami loss?

It's true, obviously it's just a sorting tool, and this year is all sorts of weird.

But it does go both ways, we're hanging our hat on a (potential) quad 1 win by winning @NC state. Not exactly the same as winning @ Kansas or something.

thats what im talking about! Finally some sense!!

That 88% is sort of meaningless though because they play tomorrow .. if they win they’re obviously in.. so as far as the bubble matters ... what is that percent if we factor in a loss to UVA ?

Nothing. It will remain a Q2 win. Clemson would have to drop from 36 (their ranking going into today) to 76 to drop our win from Q2 to Q3.

And that certainly won't happen. All good.

And Miami can't climb enough (with this one win) to move from a Q3 to a Q2.

I would love to know where ESPN comes up with 88%. And, as much as I hate to say it, I would love to take the other side of that. Syracuse +733 to not make the tournament is a bet I would be all over

im just saying as of right NOW i think we have done enough to get in. especially when i compare our resume to others

What is the 88%?
