Not Playing @Ruttie

So does this mean they simply lose the home game this year, but are still obligated to play us in the dome next year (same for W, Mich)?
Losing home games against Colgate and (especially) Liberty doesn't exactly break my heart.
This is looking way down the road, but I assume the bowl eligibility formulas will need to be adjusted (if they even play the games).

Syracuse and Rutgers should play a neutral site game at MetLife next year and just cancel the home/home.

Get MetLife to cut a check to both schools. Split the tickets. Put the game on ESPN not Fox.

Why?

We did the MetLife thing and it didn't work
So we don’t owe them a future road game.

Just play a one off so schedules don’t get tied and we have to replace them competent next year.

Neutral site games at MetLife have never been the issue. Playing home games at MetLife was always the issue.

We probably wouldn’t even need to social distance. Ticket sales would be 8-10k for that 80k seat stadium.

They made money they wouldn't have playing at the Dome. You weren't going to get SC or ND to agree to a visit to SU.
USC was willing to play us at the Dome.
They agreed to the series because of Dr.Gross relationship.

Dr.Gross sold the USC home game to MetLife for $$$.
Plain and simple.
That wasn’t on USC at all.

Notre Dame did what Notre Dame does which is strong arm programs they can. Which they did. Some
Partner.

Rutgers forfeited to us. That was their home game. This was the best thing that could have happened. Losing to us by 50 or 70 points and having all their players hurt probably would have ended their season.

Great outcome for them. Maybe they can complete their season if they are lucky.

Hopefully we will be allowed to play them in the Dome next year to complete the inevitable sweep. Rutgers 0-12, every year, forever. It is good to have last place Rutgers as last place Rutgers again, Even in a pandemic.

I give you this beauty from our old friend Al.

H/t: the boneyard
Rutgers Stadium (I believe the correct name is actually Stadium), looks like an ugly parking garage.

How unfortunate. RutgersAl deserves better.

It's a 10 year old video.

Maybe the garage is filled with Z28 Camaros by now.

"Simply, wow, is all I can say".
Those are some sweet staircases he zoomed in on. [/sarcasm.font]

A neutral site game is only interesting to me if it's part of a 3-game deal with each team getting a home and home.

Cuse might never be ready for the opponent but i would have loved to see them play Ohio State home/away and then at Bills stadium.

Why? What did Met Life ever do to you?
Just trying to be fair.

I get the joke.

If we have to owe Rutgers a home game it makes more sense to play a neutral site next year split the tickets and payout and then play home/home in the future.

Yep, USC was the only bad one. Complete giveaway of a Dome game.

ND 4 game series was play in NYC/South Bend or we'll find someone else. Could have said no, but didn't give away a Dome game. That was in ND's "we're not playing in stadiums with less than 65k capacity but we'll make a few exceptions and Syracuse isn't one of them" phase.

PSU was 1-1-1 NYC-Dome-Beaver Stadium, unfortunately the next two never happened.

ND in Yankee Stadium was their home game that they moved.

I only revisit because so often, people just didn't get it.

You nailed it.
I have gotten a high level person in the AD to admit to me off the record he regrets the ND deal because he didn’t know the ACC invite was coming in 2011.

Not that it matters he admitted that but our fans just don’t get how small time that deal was.
