Notre Dame Gameday...

Whatever happened to that Rutgers fan who always claims Cuse is having locker room issues

Important game for Spallina.

Four goals and an assist against Lyght, a first team All American last year. Beat him off the dodge quite a few times, got loose against him a few times off ball; truthfully Spallina should have another goal or two if not for the Notre Dame goalie.

Anderson has been a revelation since being inserted into the starting line up. His explosiveness is refreshing and leads me to an interesting discussion. With Joey not being as explosive an athlete and Anderson showing his willingness to take people to the rack; do you move your #1 cover guy (whose typically the more/most athletic defender) to the bigger, taller, more explosive Anderson? It’s an interesting discussion and thought and albeit it very premature, this current track of development by Anderson oozes potential match up issues.

Anderson as myself and a few others have been begging for, has been revelation. Thomson has had a great year but there's no scenario where he can take Andersons spot now. Gotta put him 1st line mid or something

I didn't want to harp on it but it was painfully obvious. Was so excited to see TD get a goal on man up. I think if we can get Anderson settled and use TD as a change of pace there's room for both. Attack is a brutal position to play in terms of PT.

I vote for giving English a breather more frequently.

He was very solid today but he was out for 3 consecutive possessions (off/def/off) at least once. A lot to ask of anyone at this level.

What. A. Game.

After those three quick goals to start the game I thought it was gonna be a long afternoon. Then they dug deep and imposed themselves all over the Irish. Probably the best win so far with Gait at the helm. Though hopefully we don't have to run into them again cause I feel like it would be the Duke games from last year, dominated the first meeting then shell shocked in the second.

Any chance we can get Grace back next year, he seemed to be all over loose balls around the crease today. Kuczynski also has been great causing some timely turnovers and being disruptive. I didn't think McCool was our goalie after that Harvard game but I'm gladly eating crow about that. Yeah he's let a couple easy ones in but he's also been quite the wall since that game. Not sure what's going on with Dwan, seems to be making some freshman decisions lately with the ball.

I think we need to start seeing more of this offense. Let Hiltz/Anderson initiate and have Spallina roam around off ball. Spallina probably should have had at least another goal but Ricciardelli definitely stole some from the offense today. Glad I don't have to decide on the starting spots once Thomson comes back. Anderson sparked the offense last week with his diving goal and seemed to spark it again today knocking through 2 or 3 defenders before scoring.

Thought maybe we had the third quarter let downs out of the system after last week but not yet. I guess the only saving grace today was that the Irish couldn't do much either in the third.

Got done rewatching it and Notre Dame got away with a lot of slashes and interference calls grabbing/holding Cuse sticks. Spallinas "cross check" was weak but again no reason for him to even do that much like a couple weeks ago when he bulldozed a defender well after the defender passed the ball and got flagged. Figuerirass' flag I get, its technically a stick to the head/neck area but in no way should have been locked in considering Jeffery pretty much knocked Figueiras over causing the contact. And for the overturned goal with Lynch, I think SU lucked out on that call. Probably should have been a flag with the waved off goal as McCool caused Lynch to land in the goal mouth, or is that only a flag if the offensive player is pushed in?

100%, plus Rhoa is slumping, you can rotate Thomson for both

Mean sure rhoa won’t like it , but feel if you drop him to second line with mix of hottle/cordes/mcCarthy mixing would be nice. As can have hottle/cordes/mccarthy be the dodgers n rhoa the sniper. Let them draw the D slide n dish to rhoa for the snipes. But will be interesting what they do. Even if they run anderson out of the box don’t care what but anderson has to get on field. He is to helpful n solid right now to not play at all. Agree bout english being over used bit. Same with rice also as both english n rice towards end could tell were def winded n feeling it. But they still were solid even then. Dwan def needs to be better in choices he makes. But let team enjoy the win n then get back to work monday n get ready for cornell. That’s gonna be another tough game.

Kid is a freak of nature the things he does at his size are crazy. Saw him jump a couple times today id like to know what his vertical is

I don't want to get carried away but...that was the best game a Cuse team has played since 2020. Spallina was truly great against a great team and the defense, goalie and fogo were fantastic. They seem to have developed some toughness which has been missing.

If they play like this, they are capable of beating anyone. Let's see if they can do it on the road at Cornell.

Can’t land in the snow cone, ever.

Lynch’s hand landed at the back corner of the semi circle.

No goal.

Edit - Pretty sure Lynch’s own momentum caused him to go into the crease. His collision with McCool (partially in the crease) prevented him from changing direction away from the semi circle.

Not arguing if it was a goal or not, was obvious he was in and the goal waived off. Just thought there might have been a flag cause McCool caused him to land in there.

Maybe just some karma cause Leo was certainly helped into it last year against Maryland and there was no flag on that call either.

Just watched the highlights n think rhoa had two assist but only credited with one. Believe he assisted on two of joeys goals. Unless for some reason the goal by joey where he turned n switch hands doesn’t count as assist cause he made a move. But don’t know feel rhoa has 2 assist n not credit with both.

The physicality really showed out. It was the whole team grinding making the check and hitting them and being in their heads all game. I don't think we've seen that all year. Great take cai!

So jacked up after that performance! So nice being able to talk with you all about a phenomenal performance by the team we all bleed for. Hoping we can come out and do the same next week, would be nice to be in the dome again. Maybe it will be a nice Lil homecoming for Joey, nick, codes, etc... Anyways just still excited that we were celebrating a win today instead of trying to figure out a loss. It's a good day, go cuse!!!

Not impressed with Lyght.

Stats tracking is a challenge for whoever does them.

Is the Cornell game going to be televised? Don't see anything about it on the schedule.
