Notre Dame Gameday...

Is the Cornell game going to be televised? Don't see anything about it on the schedule.
Think it's on another subscription stream but not positive. Was wondering what it was going to be on as well.

don’t see how that game not be prime time tv or whatever. Atleast should be on espn or fox or something. Would acc network have it either way?

Will be streamed exclusively on Corrigan sports network. It's an internet streaming service that I'm sure we will have to pay for

At Cornell next week? Didn’t we play them at Cornell last year. That was that crazy game…right?

This is going to be a top 5, maybe top 4 matchup. What a load of horse s*** that this is going to be on an app you have to pay $25 for.

Rutgers is celebrating their greatest lacrosse win in their history (100+years!). Too bad this loss is going to hurt SU a little, otherwise, losing to Rutgers couldn't happen to a nicer team.

After going back and watching the highlights I really loved how physical the defense was yesterday, particularly with Taylor. Props to Grace who did a great job on Taylor and even Kuczynski had some moments too all of which I really think they were in Taylors head. After watching him torment us for what feels like a decade, it was nice to see the team actually had a plan to do something about it.

And I certainly will not miss seeing Taylor or another Kavanaugh out there next season for the Irish!

Big win yesterday. I have three game balls to hand out. The first goes to Joey Spallina for having a #22 level game against the best dman in the country. Second game ball goes to Payton Anderson for stepping up as a true freshman on a big stage and taking some pressure off Spallina with his dodging ability. He had a key goal and assist. Third and final game ball goes to John Mullen who dominated face offs. One smelly jock to hand out this week and that goes to Luke Rhoa who over the last two games has not been able to hit the broad side of a barn. 0 for his last 15+. He needs to get back into early season form if we’re going to have a dominant 1st line.

If ever there was a year where it was likely for SU vs Cornell to be a top 5 matchup, it was this year. For it to be on whatever this streaming service is... just mind boggling. Truly a blunder. Utter negligence. Gross malpractice. I know better than to ask if it can get scooped up by ESPN or Fox.

Wow, I didn't see that coming. A few observations.

NDs faceoff guy pretty much won them the NC against Duke last year (or the year before?) when he outdueled Naso, who had a crazy win percentage all year and, I think, was the U.S. team FOGO. To see Mullen work him hard, wow. If they can keep on getting that out of him, they're hard to beat.

I'm not sure I've seen a team so good offensively go 2/3 of a game without scoring like that. Is it Odierna's scheme? Is it Mullen? Is it the close D? I watched the Hopkins game a few weeks back. Their O had been on fire. And Cuse made them look terrible and held them scoreless for a long, long time.

McCool. I'm not sure about him. He seems to react really late to shots, holds his stick low, and seems to be guessing. Maybe I'm crazy. Just my perception from watching him yesterday. I AM NOT trying to be a jerk about the guy. He's obviously very good or wouldn't be in goal for such a team. I just wonder if he's a weak link come tournament time. And, I haven't seen him play a ton, so maybe I'm delusional. Then again...Cuse worked Ricciardelli hard and he's looked great at times this year.

Play of the Day: Casey Powell rockin' the upper deck. Loved seeing that guy up there after all the magic he made on the Dome turf.

Cuse v. Cornell should never happen outside of CNY. Either Schoellkopf on an early spring Tuesday night when it has finally stopped snowing...or the Dome.

I thought he saw the ball well yesterday.

I get what you're saying, though. You can never be quite sure what kind of day he is going to have - one like yesterday or one like Harvard...

I'm hoping the light bulb finally went on for him.

The only reason he was south of 60% on saves was due to the last 2 gimme goals ND scored where all the D were overly aggressive and triple teaming one player, leaving Taylor and another all alone right outside the crease

Again not toot my own horn here but this goes back directly to Anderson starting at attack. Allows Joey the ability to play off ball and freelance which is where he is by far the most dangerous. Also ends any team double polling, even ND with one the best SSDMs in the country didn't even think of trying to short Anderson. I'm glad the staff finally made the move but it's a bit concerning an idiot like me saw this months ago and it took this long and an injury to get him out there.

Even though i went to genny and didnt play i have watched a ton of lax in my life. again as a non player i dont think we realize how hard it is being a lax goalie. One of my best friends played goalie for princeton in the early 80’s and he has told me to multiply what you see on tv by 10 and that is how fast a ball comes at you.

with that being said yes at times he does react late to shots but overall i think he is well better than average.

I'm going to give the coaching staff a little slack here that perhaps they felt Anderson wasn't quite ready earlier in the season. Yes, he possesses all the physical skills but earlier in the season he looked uncertain and a little raw. He still needs to work on the ride, but yesterday's performance should give him a ton of confidence going forward. A side note, I think coach March's game plans starting with the Hopkins game have been very good.
