I agree on Jones. He has shown plenty of potential. The guy’s line stinks and every single one of his weapons was hurt for large portions of the season. Not exactly sure what anyone could really expect out of him under those circumstances.

Judge….meh.
This vicious defensive clinic harkens to the days of LT, Banks, Pepper, Marshall vs. White, Brown, Simmons, Joyner…..
Just kidding. No it doesn’t.
Even better news is the likelihood that Gettleman will not be running the draft.Good news is draft stock is going up. Still possible to get two top 5 picks. The only reason to watch the last two games.
With how much the Mara's love Judge (for whatever reason) they're going to get an Aaron Boone style puppet of a GM. Anyone with options/competence will say no thanks. If they are giving Jones another year, they need to find a real backup. Glennon caliber guys aren’t going to cut it.
I don’t see Judge as the guy. If you are bringing in a new GM, let that person bring in their own staff. There have to be more competent head coaches out there.
Hard to see any real options besides giving Jones another year. They invested a high pick in him, he’s under contract, he’s at least shown the potential to be good. There doesn’t appear to be anyone in the draft who is a better prospect than Jones was, and the team is not in a position to be good right away if they were to trade for a Rodgers or Wilson.
To me, it’s swing for the fences with a trade for Watson(not likely for the Giants based on history), or give Jones another year and some help, and hope he progresses.
I’d rather load up the OL and front 7 and take my chances that Jones becomes a steady, middle of the league type QB. You can win with a QB at that level if you have a strong defense and OL. Every single Giants SB winner had a great front 7, and all but one had a strong OL(2011 team had a struggling run game) The 1990 Giants won in the playoffs with a backup QB, and 2007 Eli was middle of the pack at best.
He's a smaller guy that's body has taken a pounding over the years. Not.sure he has much left. Not sure if it's him or his line, but Wilson does not look like the same player he's been the past decade. He's got good weapons in Seattle so it's not that. I agree the Giants should focus on building the team elsewhere and see if they can get some incremental improvement out of Jones.
Wouldn't hurt for them to sign someone like Nick Foles.

Offensive coaching or lack thereof doesn't help. You can say that about a few guys in the league. He's a smaller guy that's body has taken a pounding over the years. Not.sure he has much left.
No doubt bevell cost him a 2nd sb.Offensive coaching or lack thereof doesn't help. You can say that about a few guys in the league.
Agreed. If Jones doesn’t have a long term deal and especially coming off an injury prone season - you have to have a backup QB that is good enough to start and win games with. Someone like Foles would be ideal.
Totally agree. If you had a chance to get Wilson 3-4 years ago that would have made sense but he just doesn't look like the same guy. He also relies heavily on his wheels and that is unlikely to work as he gets older. The articles in the NY papers about Wilson are nuts. The Giants have to fix the cap, rebuild the lines, cut players all over the place. Trying to paper over all of that with a Russell Wilson is a Washington Football Team type of move.
My once rock solid trust in them is long gone after allowing such malfeasance over the last four years (ok longer going back to Reece).
Wilsons agent has to be driving the conversation through the media and ex front office employees. Mike Tannenbaum(not sure he knows much about building a team) has been pushing it on ESPN too.Totally agree. One thing that Sirianni, the Iggles' coach, said, was that he was fortunate to come in as a first-year coach and have a quality O-line and D-line as that rarely happens for a rookie HC.
The Jints' O-line has been an ongoing disaster, despite expending some high picks on it. Tough to blame Judge for that. Not to mention, it sure looks to me that Saquon might never get back to what he was.
I think they hung onto Gettleman for at least two seasons too long.
Glennon can eat a basket of frozen .
