So we're gonna go ahead and say this fun "atmosphere of compliance" game the cartel is playing with JB doesn't apply to fellas like Cal, are we?
:rolling:

So if Ennis took money from an agent last year would you expect JB to be implicated?:blah:

The final fours are vacated. Whether by the schools or by JC himself is a matter of semantics. He carries those asterisks on his record.

If they were truly just semantics then kentucky wouldnt have hired him.

If he gets busted for cheating I'll say he cheated. Until then I'm not going to join with the pitchforks and burn someone at the stake when there is no proof. If Cal was JB he'd be getting raped here, and if JB was Cal he'd be defended to the death.

This gets to the heart of it. It's a total double standard.

To me i think there is a lot of dissent towards JB wrapped in between the lines of prose regarding the "defense" of calipari.

Not from me. The NCAA sanctions were way too harsh. My criticism of JB would be that right or wrong his personality probably rubbed some the wrong way and didn't help the situation.

Sort of like some idiot concocting a scheme to bilk the YMCA to pay a couple players for work?

So instead, they devastated the school with massive penalties. It is absurd that they impose brutal sanctions on a school but let the coach escape unscathed.

Brutal sanctions? Memphis did not lose any scholarships or have any postseason ban. If that is your definition of brutal penalties... lol. Both Memphis & UMass fell off the national basketball landscape because they lost Calipari not because of anything of that the NCAA did to them.

Unfortunately it wasn't just the YMCA paying players that screwed SU.

Isn't there a game on you should be watching?

Sure. I said the sanctions were way too harsh. Not sure what this has to do with Calipari though.

ok, sure, so how did the ncaa decide to focus it's wrath in everything they "found"? the coach is the CEO --> is responsible for everything, right?

That law was passed post Calipari but hey don't look to me to defend the NCAA. They suck.

Yeah--you guys are right! He only left for those reasons. It had nothing to do with the fact that the NCAA scorched the earth at both of the institutions he fled scant moments before the NCAA came down on them. Silly me. But hey--plausible deniability.

Not just Calipari left. But a fan left Memphis and is now a UK fan. Some guy by the name of WWW.

I don't think what they did to JB was fair at all, you can go through my posts and see that. But what happened with Camby at UMASS was pretty much the same thing that happened with the YMCA ordeal.

Scorched the earth? lol neither UMass nor Memphis lost any scholarships or had any postseason bans.

Yeah--scorched the earth. They got much worse--vacated final four appearances. LOL.

It is not a matter of semantics. They were vacated, which means that the schools were penalized. Clear as day.

I'd take our last final four appearance vacated over our scholarships being removed the next 3 years, I think you would too.

I'm listening.

Well tell me where espn and the rest of the media world placed an asterisk after cal landed recruiting coup after coup.. if he had been implicated as at fault in both the umass and memphis situations it goes from an asterisk to a documented violation. UK is not hiring the coach labeled twice as a cheater to lead their program. Possibly even memphis doesnt hire him either. The fact he stayed untouched is why they had no issue. Tell me how that one is incorrect..
