i kinda don't get it.
this game was for all the people in nassib's corner. I don't think it makes them right overall, but last night was their best argument.
marrone doesn't think they can win relying too heavily on the pass. can you blame him?
run blocking is really bad. generally, i think people underrate the importance of run blocking and overrate the importance of pass blocking. qbs have a lot easier time throwing the ball away from pressure than running backs do running away from it. i hoped run blocking would be better this year. i'm convinced that having a small center has much to do with it although chibane is clearly disappointing.
BJ daniels may suck overall but he is incredibly volatile. we got the good daniels last night.
our defense lost too much and the offense didn't improve as much as lots of people hoped.
it was a miracle that they got to 8 wins last year. luck matters a lot in football because there are so few games.
we had trouble in the red zone last night. this stuff evens out. over a lot of games, yards is what matters. over a quarter of our offense was in garbage time but it's not like it was against backups, it counts but it didn't matter much because USF had already gotten their 500 yards.
my general complaint with the program is that the offense is so far behind where they need to be. but last night was just a run of the mill game where the bigger faster team outgained the slower smaller team. last night doesn't mean as much to me as it does everyone else. it's just the panic of missing a bowl is setting in - but the decisive games there already happened - UConn and RU
