Him being there definitely makes me feel better about our chances! Glad it's a dead period and no one can (legally) talk to him. We made our final statement on the field.

What do skills/work ethic have to do with leadership?
Is this a serious question? Without skills/work ethic, who would trust in you to lead them.. I think what you meant to say is skills/work ethic don't guarantee you have the skill to lead...

This kid is tougher to read than a wet trail. Good for him for enjoying the process. I really hope we land him as much for his sake as ours. I think that Shaffer and crew will turn this kid into a bonafide NFL talent. Im not so sure about the clemson staff and their ability to coach him up. At Clemson he is going to have so much more than football to take care of. Going that far away to school is difficult for the most seasoned and prepared kid. Stepping outside of my Syracuse bubble and looking at his choice as objectively as possible i really hope for his sake that he comes to Syracuse.

I agree. Again, not trying to go all homer but our defense is very exciting and a guy like him could really blow up here. Chandler Jones went mid-first round, I can only imagine the buzz Ogundeko could create with our blitz heavy pressure defense.

I'd like to think that Ebo along with MPB or Trjo would be dominant force for the defense I love the inside tackles with Bromley and Williams. I all honesty I love the potential of next year's team on both sides of the ballWe have very capable players returning and high end freshmen to spark the team.

Nice find. That does sound good.[/quote said:
He is just mentioning our name to help us with other recruits. Learned it from daddy Williams. Scary that this guy is starting to become a handler for NYC recruits. I do think we have a shot with EO when we didn't have one with Williams.

After reading that comment, I really feel the coaching staff has done everything in their power to land this kid. Win or lose, I'm good with the work our staff has put in.

clemson orange probably
aren't we used to that by now? When is the last time we won a battle for a kid that had a lot of big time options? Man do I look forward to that day.

I lost all sensitivity to recruting after the julius hodge fiasco, even though it worked out in our favor. Im even keel.

re Florida - "I wanted to go to a school closer to home and I'll have a better opportunity to play earlier at the other schools."

hahahahaha - yes, Clemson is much closer to NYC than UF. Clemson couldn't be more in the middle of nowhere on the eastern seaboard.

Hopefully winning the Pinstripe the way we did - old time smash mouth plus the exciting Shaffer defense - will convince EO that Syracuse is where he best fits. Long term my view for him is that he has a better chance to go pro with us and follow in the footsteps of D Freeney & C Jones. I think he would simply be nurtured to succeed better by us than Clemson who really have no real interest in kids coming out of the NE.

If EO chooses Cuse ... give him #72 and resurrect the 4 wheel drive defense ... :)

I would give him #12 or any number he wants and tell him we'll do the Orange Wave for him.

Let's face it - the kid is a football player first and foremost. Watch this video and imagine being a NYC kid in the middle of this on a recruiting visit. For all the positives that SU may offer, it cannot offer a football experience remotely close to what Clemson can (for that matter, few other schools can match the Clemson experience). I am willing to bet that 95% of us out here would pick Clemson if we were an 18 year old being offered the chance to be part of that experience and all the benefits that come with it. The logical arguments for SU are solid but I have to believe that most 18 year olds are ultimately blinded by the bright lights of the big program.

Quotes from HC Dabo Swinney just 12 short months ago before the 70-33 shellacking administered by the West Virginia team we downed 38-14 on Saturday

From Dabo Swinney's own lips, "For too long the Clemson football program has been wandering in the wilderness"

Famous last words from Dabo just before kickoff "Hopefully when this thing is over people will be talking about the Clemson defense."

Mr. Swinney be careful what you wish for :D Clemson's loss was the worst in bowl history.

EO you can be a part of a defense capable of giving up 70 points or one that gave up 14 to the same team, same AA QB, same 1st team All American Tavon Austin and 2nd team All American Stedman Bailey.

It's your choice, be surrounded by a bunch of good ole boys or your good old boys who'll always have your back. Guys who really care about you and will guide you through the ups and downs that college life can present you.

Clemson has one player from NYS, SU returns 12 downstate players and has 2 more committed in your class.

You only have one chance to get this right.

BTW EO, the last time we played Clemson we embarrassed them in the Gator Bowl 41-0

From 1869-2011 Syracuse University has never lost to Clemson*

Enough said.

*BTW we have only played them once but I'm trying to pull out all the stops here because I really, really, really want to see you in Syracuse Orange:D
