Ohh noooooo

Kyles per 40 numbers rounded off are 14 p 11 reb 4 bpg 2 apg 2 spg and also only 3.3 fpg.

We’ve had bigs run higher per 40 numbers in certain categories like scoring and rebounding but these numbers across the board are unique and hard to find a match of a center who has been as impactful in literally every single aspect of the game like Kyle has even in some of our best teams over multiple decades. He is also about 2-3 ft per game from pushing things up even more.

All of this might I add while he keeps getting better and flashing a few more post moves to be an option down low every game not just with the lob and out backs.
Here are Fab Melo's per 40 stats for comparison sake when he won BE DPOY.

ok, cool.

i guess thats the main difference between you and me: im thinking more of like a sweet 16 matchup and you are thinking more about bottom and middle of ACC.

i suppose as the program has struggled, people keep re-adjusting their expectations and standards lower and I havent done that yet.

Huh? You keep sliding the goalposts. Just look at the per 40 numbers for Kyle so far and the comparison using Fabs numbers from 11-12.

Also I have no idea how you interpreted his post the way you did. Nowhere is their anything focusing on the middle and bottom of the ACC… Kyle and our frontcourt in general has been more than solid, without Donnie over the 4 game stretch minus essentially 1 half of basketball.

look, i'd rather just let this convo go, dont wanna give this fire any more air tbh...but i feel kinda compelled to respond since you are being so vociferous in your incredulousness at my position...JB agrees with me and said that height at the center position is an issue FYI

i think you guys are clouding things up based on the games against the cupcakes...same way a lot of people thougt kiyan should start over jj after the first couple games

kansas outrebounded SU 49-29
tenn center had his career high in like 20 minutes of play
iowa states frontcourt ripped this team a new one

the fricking monmouth center had 18 points and 5 reb in 25 mins (donnie played that game too btw...this has nothing to do with him)

im not saying the frontcourt is so bad that the team cannot win games...im just saying it is not a strength and could be a lot better, esp in the 2nd and 3rd string positions.

i think kyle has very key weaknesses in his game to go along with some strong strengths...but in balance, a smart team will successfully exploit those weaknesses...and it is something to gameplan and prepare for.

all along i wanted the roster to be built with the center position differently and still do not think that kyle alone is a good enough center corps. the other 2 centers are not balancing out him very well imo...theyre basically non factors...adn they dont complement his weaknesses at all

my ideal would have been kyle playing about 20 minutes a game and a more well rounded center playing 20 minutes a game (a guy who can shoot fts, and score on postups - likely a tall player ...maybe a 7 footer who can shoot)...and then playing the hot hand depending on circumstance

I AM VERY HAPPY THAT KYLE IS ON THE SU BASKTBALL TEAM

my issue is more with the entire roster construction and basically only having kyle as the entire center corps
