One of the worst parts about being bad is

I was going to make a comment on this thread and then the words of my grandmother chimed into my head. In an Edith Bunker like voice she would say, "If you don't have anything nice to say shut your God damn mouth!"

The best thing about this season is that it's almost over. I don't even WANT us to make the ACC tournament. Why? To look terrible again and get beaten by 20 by SMU or whatever? My tormented Orange soul needs to know who is coaching us next year. I need to know if Donnie is going pro or transferring or neither? All I care about right now is who is going to be our squad opening day next season.
Wait, I do want us to keep our spot in the ACC/SEC challenge. Do we just have to avoid last place??? It's really sad that I'm asking this...

That's an interesting take. I respect it but don't relate. No matter how bad we are, I enjoy watching our games. It's an activity that I look forward to - I record the game, watch later in the evening when the kids/wife are down, and pop a few IPAs. Even during the Grob football years, I watched every game. It probably helps me appreciate things more when we get good again - like this year with Fran.

Let's just say it really doesn't matter at this point.

"I hope we don't come in last place because..."

If we come in last place when the dust settles, it will mean the dregs leapfrogged us and it will be a REALLY rough end to a terrible season.

Sorry, I just can't.

Looking at the bottom 3's remaining schedules, I have to think we're in (boy, it felt weird to type that).

Beating Moo U would pretty much guarantee it.

Yeah, the other 3 teams would have to get some w's while we tank... We just gave 1-11 Miami one so never say never.

Sadly nothing is a given today. Miami game has shook any remaining confidence that I had.

But I do expect that we will make it - barely.

Paid to watch Lax lose and luckily other sports on. The better ranked squads I can somewhat follow but hate CBB in general.

Enjoyed seeing Wemby in person Weds and making it to the Dome for Towson.

The games are no longer "much watch", but they're still "try to watch" for me. I watched the majority of the second half for this one, a competitive back and forth with another struggling legendary program. But showed zero emotion and was borderline apathetic to the outcome. At one point Crispin said something like UNC losing this game to Syracuse (even on the road) would be a "postseason destroyer"

It's amazing how far we've fallen.

Loved hearing how UNC would have dimmed their tournament hopes with a bad quad three loss.

Technically, we are ahead of Cal because we beat them. Be grateful for the small things I suppose.

I have no desire to watch other games.
That carries into March Madness for me. It’s brutal not being able to get into it. Many years of not being motivated to even fill out a bracket is tough.

I find myself watching more mid majors, Big 5, Ivy and women's. I don't watch much Top 25, I don't want to be reminded of where we once were. I love basketball so I am always going to watch something. Went to a High School playoff game the other night and it was awesome.

I’m no longer watching anything. Not really watching any sports. It’s sad

These days, if I want to watch hoops, I watch the Knicks, and whatever Western Conference teams might be playing in the late game, if they are contenders.

I like watching the Knicks too unless they’re playing Boston, Cleveland or OKC. They have been crushed by them every time they play them. They just can’t defend, especially the three.

Seeing a packed msg st johns uconn sunday noon on national tv is so so so painful. Should be us. HATE the ACC
