We can be proud that this man is leading this basketball program.

Not everyone agrees it was the right choice, and I'm sure there will continue to be plenty of disagreement during his coaching tenure no matter the results.

But, I feel a pride and excitement in Gerry being the head coach that I haven't felt with Syracuse basketball in a long time.

I have a feeling there will be a ton of excellent players excited to play for him and this program. I'm confident that the best times of this program are ahead of us.

I am really glad you posted this. I sent it to my 39 year old daughter, who has gone to every game with me since 2008 but never saw Gerry. I think this can give her a feel for him.
