No Srs who stay dont count towards the 85. But the trickle down for kids who get extra yrs will linger for awhile. Next yrs class(2022) for some schools might be real smallIs it still going to be a max of 85 ships next year?
If it stays at max 85 it's going to be a real tough call who you allow to come back.
The school has the money. Unless a kid has a true chance at making the nfl next year, has a job or family money they would be foolish to not take advantage of the 70k education plus training table, plus stipend, plus name and likeness. There will be a limited market for Srs to move to other schools since they will count towards the 85 if they leave.. there will be a bigger market for Grad Transfers who now might have 2+ yrs left to play. if 10 Kids want to come back the school needs to find 500K+ to fund it. Its a giant puzzle.
You make a good point.the job market sucks for grads now and wont be much better next spring. If the kids got degrees they plan on using staying in school isnt a bad idea and hope job market gets batter after next yr.
There is some wisdom to the idea of staying in school/advancing your education credentials during a time of national economic hardship.
