I thought the games were excellent. The kids, staffs, and limited fans all seemed pumped.personally i didn't notice a huge drop off. Can't wait for next Saturday. Hope TD and the guys are ready to strap it on!

Social distancing rules seemed pretty arbitrary and random.

Didn't watch much of it yesterday but I will be happy to just have Syracuse football back, I look at this year as a learning one as we transition to new coordinators. My expectations are low I just hope everyone stays safe and we learn a lot over the course of the season. Fans or fans Im just happy sports are back and we are on the way to a somewhat "normal" life...

I enjoyed the sports I got tippi watch yesterday (some football, some European soccer, Kentucky derby, some baseball). I miss the crowds but not as much as i missed sports. As for how much does lack of crowds impact my enjoyment? I'd say it's 5% less enjoyable.

I turned on Memphis Vs. whoever they were playing. It was a tied game in the 2nd. 14-14. You know...a good football game. In the 20 minutes I watched, literally all the commentators talked about was social injustice. In that 20 minutes, there was ZERO talk of the competitive game currently being played. Maybe I just tuned in at the wrong time, but I turned on the game for a bit of an escape. A return to normalcy. I didn't find it.

when you add in the fake crowd noise baseball seems about the same to me.

golf is where i see it the most so far but havent watched much football yet.

Watched a little bit of them all, enjoyed watching McBride QB for Texas St. gave SMU a game, Memphis game was very competitive, completely understand the social injustice commentary, not to down play what is going on in the world today, but sometimes people just want an escape from what is going on in the world.
Army was fantastic, I would not want to play them at all, I'm sure Navy will be just as tough tomorrow night. No or limited crowds really did not seem to change anything for me, in fact watching baseball was able to catch some bombs and trash talk.
Cant wait for a full slate next weekend, I love college sports and keeping my fingers crossed it continues on to hoop season, I've watched ZERO NBA, about 5 minutes of hockey, a lot of baseball, but cannot wait for next weekend!

good. Things need to be not normal and safe so we can get to a better place. The athletes themselves are begging for it

Loved watching Army and their HC would be an excellent choice if Dino moves on (possible) or gets canned (doubtful). Also, the EKU team should start focusing on football instead social injustice after getting their teeth kicked in by Marshall 59 - 0.

I tuned in for a bit of the Memphis game. For me, the limited crowd in the stands was quite comparable to watching many of those lesser tier bowls games typically played. So, as Carl Spackler would say, "it's no big deal." :)

Annually, I enjoy watching the US Open, especially some of these late night affairs. Friday night's match between the 4th seed, Tsitsipas, and the 27th seed Coric was spectacular, ending with a 5th set tiebreaker. I really miss the crowds for this event, and the usual NYC crowd would've made that 5 setter even that much more sensational.

If this all boils down to the ever present “racist ideology “ , then let’s have all college teams be limited to the number of scholarship players no greater than their percentage of the racial makeup in the USA. Is that not the ultimate in racial fairness?
Do I support that? No, it eliminates hard work and effort and perhaps the factor of genetics. At 5’9” I most likely will not be a basketball center and that does not even include my lack of athletic ability. I have long ago decided that that does not make me a victim and moved on. From the 60’s (my era at SU) we have made,in my opinion, great strides in equal treatment and respect of all races. Perfect no, but now we are going backwards! Sad.

I was excited when I saw Cadets in the Army stands. For a moment, I thought we might be allowed limited fans. Lasted until they showed cut outs/photos of the players parents in the visiting stands.. :-/

Makes sense, in their situation, that some are allowed. As future officers, their adherence to mask rules were unmatched. Seeing all of those push-ups in the stands made it feel like football was back. I LOVE that tradition!

Good point. I watched 3 games and heard alot of that chatter too. I watch my sports for a diversion from the dumpster fire outside of them.

Love it too and glad it's back. I was scoping McBride also. Texas st. has a nice squad and that was a good game. So many good young qbs out there. Also enjoying the baseball, degrom/NOLA is a nice matchup going on today. The little things;)

Going to impact the players playing the game a lot more than it will those of us watching on TV -- at least in my opinion.

Will even the playing field for road trips by a lot.

It's interesting that people whose whole world has been sports think that because they have the mike, they should be preaching to people who didn't turn them on to hear their thoughts on anything other than that game at hand.
Maybe that's why NBA ratings are down so much?
