Opportunity for Improvement

Always an opportunity. There is always someone better out there. Need the search firm or whoever to expertly do their job and wildhack and team pick the right fit.

There’s no such thing as long term anymore. Even in corporate america. I think 30+ year employees will be a rarity going forward.

I really hope they use the open position coaching spots towards more recruiters. I think we got a solid group of positional coaches and the coordinators scream continuity as many have said.

Extra money that was going to White plus the buyout can go towards more analysts, a game clock manager, and maybe some recruiting stuff.
Generally agree, but it’s important that we not think of the analysts and other support staff as something that comes from a windfall. It has to be structural to keep up.

My personal opinion is, we must improve the run game and stop the opponents run game. I know we had a lot of injuries on the Dline but this wins games.

Pretty important that Beck gets someone of like mind, talent and disposition for a quarterback coach. Shrader developed under Beck’s tutelage because that was what Beck was hired for. None of this wearing two hats BS like Syracuse likes to do to save money. Beck will have his hands full implementing his offense and calling plays. He won’t have the time to be an Offensive Coordinator and quarterback whisperer at the same time. This year we as fans got to see the benefit of seeing a quarterback coach develop his quarterback. In past years Syracuse has severely lacked someone in that position and we as fans complained about the lack of development in the quarterback position. No going backwards anymore. Get the talent to develop the talent.
Most OC / DC coach a position. It has nothing to do with saving money. There is a coach limitation. I want Beck to still coach qb. I hope they go hire a te coach that has ties to Bech / Anae.

Kevin Rogers was the prototype. OC/QB and good at both.

(Or Deleone, OC/OL)

Absolutely. I think the nutrition thing was a good example.

They hired a John Mitchell to oversee a few key components like physical, mental heath, S&C and nutrition.

JW's latest interview suggested they are going deeper into these aspects hiring other individuals.

I think Wildhack is also improving as an AD which helps all the coaches. White really helped us and Wildhack was an important part of that success. It's clear that Beck was the joint succession plan for the offense. There's reason for optimism.

Whatever Dino and Wildhack decide to do on the defensive side, I suspect they have a strategy that Wildhack is implementing or supporting. The bowl game will give them an opportunity to evaluate Monroe while they identify other options. They think enough of him to offer him that opportunity which isn't insignificant. They chose a DC well the last time and think that's a sign that Wildhack understands his role better perhaps than when he came over from ESPN. Hopefully that will help Dino improve as well.
