My take:

They would have been much cleaner without the wordmark across the chest. The client ultimately gets what they want, but someone in SUA should have said this looks better without our name across the chest.

It actually feels like over branding as you have the block S on the neck right above the Orange wordmark. When you see the S, you know that it's Syracuse. That's the brand.

To you, maybe, but the S is not iconic nationally. Cuse or Orange is. The color, if anything, makes the "S."
