There's enough lead in those glasses to make your very own X-Ray shield.

Being fat I like to think I’m kind of an expert in this topic. All of the burgers mentioned are excellent. Hands down the best burger I have ever had is at the cider mill. They have a seasonal menu and change the burger every 3 months or so. But if you get the opportunity and see it on the menu, get the Hell Fire burger. Don’t walk, just run. It’s a Spicy, delicious burger with friend banana peppers, sriracha aioli and bacon jam. The burger melts in your mouth while providing just enough heat to let you know that it has some kick. The jam provides a sweet outlet that goes along superbly with the Spicy aioli. It requires a cold beer, recommend a DIPA, but any beer will do. Ahh the memories, my Mouth is watering thinking of it. So many good times with that burger.

Bit of a drive from the Cuse(20-30 minutes), but Madison Bistro in Wampsville is pretty darn good. It's right across from the Madison County courthouse. They took 3rd place for best burger in that same competition that Ale and Angus won. Recently, they also won some award for best steak in NY.

Yes, this place is awesome. Everything on their menu, not just the burger (and for what it's worth, I thought that Elvis burger was a little over the top, the onion rings kind of dominated the sandwich).

I'm in Utica half a dozen times a year for work and without fail I drive 5 rather than the Thruway for one reason: lunch in Wampsville.

The Cider Mill is one of those rare restaurants where spicy means spicy. Can't go wrong with anything on their menu (but depending on the season, some burgers are better than others).

Coppertop makes a mean burger I’m not going to lie. Never disappointed there. And if someone your with does not want a burger then this is a solid place to go. But, if they don’t want a burger they also probably should not be your friend.

Love their fries. Shoestring.

I haven't tried their burger but I should have. The last time I went there, I ordered their chicken riggies. Any time a waitress takes an order, there is a long silence and then she says "yes, well we have our own special take on chicken riggies I think you will find interesting", I find that this is special waitress code for "you should change your order immediately".

And that is all I have to say about that.

Beef tallow is making a comeback amongst young hipster/foodies. So put on your favorite pair of skinny jeans and enjoy it in an ironic fashion.

Coppertop is owned by Tully's, right? The same Tully's that says on their menu "we won't cook burgers below medium"?

Because that's a big red flag to me on a couple levels. Don't know if it's corporate policy or if it's limited to Tully's.

Same family, not the same people.

I know they are tied together by family I believe. Also, yes they only go medium. But, I must say their medium is very tender. Give it a try - specifically the pub burger. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Has anyone ever had a bad burger that wasn't fast food? I feel like it's impossible to mess up a burger. Some are better than others obviously.

Up until about 6 months ago, I’d back you up. Last couple of times I’ve been...it’s been marginal.
Jake I liked you, I really did.

Who gets crown now in your world?

Hmm I've been there a couple of times in the past 6 months and the burgers have been on point, as usual.

Ruby Tuesday. That one in Carrier Circle. Oooooooooooooooh, lord!

Had a surprisingly excellent burger at Eagle Tavern on Buckley Road. Firecracker burger with cherry peppers. Really good. Have some pretty good gourmet style sandwiches as well for an unsuspecting bar in a little plaza.
