you are acting like no one else could have, with increased resources and other advancements it should have been turned around and I think he did ok.
I think some people underestimate the absolute abyss that the program was in after the Robinson era. I'm sure there are others that could have done what Marrone was able to accomplish in his short time here. But, I think that number is small, and the chances of SU being able to attract those kind of guys would be even smaller.
Marrone was the right guy at the right time. He rescued the program, IMO. That task was monumental because there was - No talent, limited facilities, limited financial resources, dying league, and no prior HC experience. For his efforts, Marrone drew the attention of the NFL. Deservedly so, regardless of how his tenure with the Bills plays out.
