OT: Doug vs Mike Williams Rd 2

Mike is clearly a moron. I read earlier this year he was in full uniform running through tailgating fans to get to the stadium as he was late.

I think he signed a nice contract with TB before they let him go. For his sake, I hope he got a good chunk of that and is saving it. He'll run himself out of the league within a few years, which is a shame. He has/had the talent to have a very good, long career.

Saint Doug needs a new OC as much as hcss did after the Louisville game.

Hackett is not ready for an OC gig in the NFL. He is going to get Saint Doug fired. Saint Doug needs to give HCSS a call for some advice.
Hackett is pretty weak but it's too bad his WRs aren't allowed to push off like New England's, we'd be a lot better if our offensive line could hold like New England, maybe throw a few phantom PI's our way, a pretend personal foul or two?

PIs were BS. Basically all of them.

I'll give you the two phantom calls, but I did t think the game was called unevenly on a whole. Lots of penalties vs the pats

I won't even get into the fact the Pats offensive line is able to do whatever they want or the Hughes personal foul for congratulating his own player or the phantom PI on the play Gronk pretended to get hurt which handed NE 3 points, even with all that, what I am most annoyed at is the 2 awful offensive PI calls on one drive we had to punt on while Gronk and Edelman are pushing off on 3rd down conversions all over the second half.

In regards to Hackett, he needs to figure out how to score in the first half. He's clearly way more focused on being conservative in the first half and it shows by us scoring 6 against Detroit and 7 against NE, meanwhile the offense opens up and wa-la, they start scoring more in the 2nd half.

Our offensive output was exactly the same against Detroit as it was against NE. Crap offense and turnovers in the 1st half of both games. More sustained drives, chunk yardage plays and points in the 2nd half. Only difference is the defense didnt get raped by the opposing team/officials in the second half of the Detroit game.

The question as it was at Syracuse... Is Hackett choosing the conservative path or Saint Doug's sphincter tightening up like it did his first three years here. No excuse for trying to run a power run game when you have the set of guards in football. Also no excuse for not finding Sammy at all in the first half.

The game was more about the Bills not being able to stop Brady than it was about Hackett.

I want to know What changed after halftime? Our defense has dominated everyone this year aside from a couple drives by Rivers and then, somehow, after being dominated in the first half by the Buffalo defense, NE scores EVERY possession in the second half? Something doesn't add up.

I think it was equal parts Schwartz refusing to blitz/adjust and officiating.

The biggest injury/scratch of the game for either side was Aaron Williams. Him being unable to play was exploited all day by Brady. Duke Williams, his replacement, was Justin Rogers level bad.

I'm not a Bills fan but have a lot of friends that are Bills fans, so I watched the game because I want nothing but success for Marrone and I think a good Bills team is good for the league and upstate NY.

I really couldn't get what changed, you're absolutely right. I hate to say that it was just that Brady is a great QB, he is, but I don't think that was what happened by itself. He made plays but I think a lot of guys would have made those plays. He had a lot of time to throw and everyone seemed to be open.

The NFL is an absolute joke. The offensive PI calls on a decisive drive….there is no precedent for such calls. Edelmann pushes off EVERY PLAY, and Gronkowski does too AND was BSing after every play…but they call a 15 yard unsportsmanlike on Hughes for SLAPPING HIS TEAMMATES' HELMETS to congratulate them after a big 3rd and 1 stop.

Soon the common fan will wake up and realize that Goodell and Kraft have dinners so often for a reason….

That's where you're wrong…9 penalties for 60 yards against NE…all false starts (have to be called), ONE HOLDING against 3 All Pro D Linemen vs. a make-shift line, and the 15 yard face mask which was obvious….

NE's final drive featured a CLEAR push-off by Edelmann on a 2nd a 15 which netted 20 yards, if you've just flagged one team 2x for Offensive PI and don't call that then you clearly have a motivating factor, it's that simple

Bills, on the other hand…4 PI penalties (one legit), the absurd Unsportsmanlike…

The league is completely driven by big markets/money just like college football is now.

They risk becoming a "Big 5 League" only a "Big 8 City" league at this rate.

Agreed bad calls happen for every team but it seems NE gets these games here and there where the officiating is comically one sided.

You're telling me that a makeshift offensive line was able to stifle the Bills defensive line when no one has been able to all year, with one, ONE holding call?

The personal fouls were comical.

Down 6, in the third quarter, phantom PI on us gives NE 3 points. Analysts point out its a bad call.

Down 9, not one, but two offensive PI calls on us, once again announcers disagree with both calls.

Down 8, 3rd and 16, Gronk pushes off and gets open to convert the first down. Keep in mind, as shown on replays, Gronk and Edelman were allowed to push off all game.

This ish doesn't happen when we have played any other team this year. The officiating became a talking point for the announcers in a close game where every controversial call was a call that hurt Buffalo.

What's awful is Buffalo lost 15 yards on the Kraft rule…that's where his QB got hurt (a risk every owner takes) so he whined to his comrade-in-arms (Goodell) and voilah! there's a rule against hitting a QB at or below the knee…how can the world miss that? The man misses the playoffs for a year and has another rule changed to protect his "Investment". The Collusion is so apparent it's amazing the common fan in small markets still care.

Green Bay seems to be the exception…the Bills need to become the Packers of the AFC…only they have Kraft and Goodell in the way.

I heard Duke Williams name WAY too often today... and it wasn't because of how well he was doing.

Doug said after the game that a TE who they thought was hurt and couldn't play was going to be able to play they found out late in the week so they gameplanned for him to play and not Mike (but never told Mike Williams till today) so they made Mike Williams inactive. BUT...nobody is buying this story right now because Mike Williams locker no longer has his name-plate over it anymore.

So either they are washing Mike Williams name-plate for some odd reason or there is more to this story and Doug isn't telling the truth. Should be interesting to follow.

What tight end would be more valuable to play over Mike besides Chandler?

I watched Pegulas interview in the tv booth. He's got that awkward "i have a ton of money and can make you disappear" demeanor. Doug and Hackett better get their ish together.
