AMAZING.

He HAD to bring it huge that last run - and did.

Oldest competitor in the halfpipe, and won his 3rd gold medal.

PS spoiler alert

I'm not a big snowboarding fan and know nothing about it, but when I watched the prelims last night, it was so obvious to my untrained eye how much he better he was than the field, it was must see tv for me tonight. That japanese dude brought it tonight too. That was fun to watch.

Seriously that kid from Japan was off the charts with that run. He's so small and compact vs. white and really brought it. In that last run if he made it to that 1620 (or whatever it was gonna be) and then hit it we'd be marveling at him right now as I think they said it's never been done before. What a competition.

What's funny about the size thing is that White is only like 160 lbs. I was nervous when they started talking about that 1620.

My son is the same age and attended a summer snowboard camp on Mount Hood which White also attended when they were 13. Obviously my son said he totally stood out and also excelled at skateboarding during the camp.

It's really sweet when you see how emotional he gets after a great performance. No matter how long he has been doing it, or how much money or notoriety he gets, he still gets overwhelmed by what he is able to accomplish

It was unbelievable. I honestly didn't think anyone was going to beat 95.25. Still, White went out there and absolutely crushed it.

That's very fun to watch. I honestly don't care for snowboarding, or a lot of winter Olympic activities, as spectator sports because I like my sports to have objective scoring systems, but I'm rewatching that clip over and over with a smile on my face. It's impossible not to appreciate that for what it is.

I also think camera technology has come so far that it really enhances our appreciation of that activity. Love the overhead shot, terrific work by NBC's crew.

Also, isn't it nice to have a winter Olympics in an actual winter environment for the first time in over a decade?

All I need to know is that my friends who are qualified ski instructors tell me they wont even ski down some these runs , let alone at speed it says all you need about the skill level of these guys.

Am I the only one that watches them do these flips and I can't tell what they're doing right or wrong? They're spinning in the air, and they all do the same thing. Sort of. Kind of takes the edge off.

I feel the same way about luge, bobsled, figure skating, slalom(all i see is poles being knocked over), curling, and freestyle anything.

I understand what you mean in a sense. I don't understand what I am looking at until they show slow mo replay. Even then I have to listen to the description.

But the exhilaration of the thing is what makes it must watch for me. These kids are launching themselves in the air doing multiple flips and attempting to land and maintain speed for the next jump. Nothing is guaranteed as you see so many who don't make it all the way down the pipe without a proper landing
