OT: For Out of Towners Hofmann's Going Big Time

I just hope to God that people every start calling them "CO - NEES" and not "COO-NEES" like some folks do for some inexplicable reason. It's a Coney -- Like Coney Island.

I pronounce it Cooney. That's not changing.

Now they better serve them in New England style rolls.
I really wish I could find those in Utah. It really shouldn't make it any better, but it does.

Mark, Looks like based on the investors, they could become part of Fuddrucker's menu. Awesome, since I have one 5 minutes from my house.

Orangello should be happy as they will be in 57 Albertson's around the DFW area...hopefully HEB will start carrying them to Austin, SA and Houston.

HEB is right next to the Fuddruckers down from my house. lol. Wonder if they'll find their way into Kroger.

Hello??? How about some Coney's down the road in Albany? We have Supermarket wars going on here - one of em has to be interested in carrying those bad boys.

There is a place here in Fairbanks that advertises "Fried weiners, fresh from Syracuse NY" I went down to check it out, they were Hoffmann's, but they no longer carried hot dogs. :(

Same here. Everyone called them Cooney's until around the 90s... then for whatever reason, people started changing the way it's pronounced to the way it is spelled.

If you look on Hoffman's web page you can find where they sell them. I think the Walmart in Clifton Park carries them.

High five.

Zaccanelli said Hofmann’s products will roll out to 67 grocery stores in Texas on Memorial Day. Romano will also be developing a quick-service restaurant chain featuring “Hofmann’s World’s Greatest Hot Dogs,” also expected to debut in the coming months. The first restaurants would open in Dallas and expand across the country.
Another hot dog oriented fast food chain? I've yet to see one succeed in the parts of the country where I've lived outside of Rochester.

Making them available at Fuddrucker's could be good.

Ted's in Buffalo has a pretty impressive history.

James Coney Island is popular here in Houston.

They're not my favorite BUT the Dome smells to me like Hoffmans. I can smell the Dome Dogs once I get to the Quad. I associate that smell with every awesome Dome moment. Throw some Hoffmans on the summer grill... yup, football's almost here.

I love me some Hoffman's hot dogs like no other, but I always make it a point to stop at a Ted's any time I'm in Buffalo.

I've bought them at WalMart in Halfmoon for several years.

Yeah, Ted's rules. I'll take Sahlen's over Hoffman's any day.

Also,
COONEY.

It's correct either way when you think about it. They are either Coney Island's gift to CNY, and pronounced as such, or they're the new signature dish of Delaware in honor of Trevor Cooney. If Hofmann's is smart, they'll create The Trevor Coney for this summer. It'll have triple everything.

Woah woah woah, I can't agree with that. I love Ted's, but it isn't topping Hofmann's and it definitely isn't a cooney!!
