OT: For Out of Towners Hofmann's Going Big Time

Hey folks, can we drop this and move on to an important topic?

Like is it soda or pop?
Is it a sub, a hero, or a wedge?

This thread may set a record...

The right side of the bell curve input:

Coney "Co-Knee"
Soda
Sub

Edit:
Poe la sky
Shal lot (wife is from Rahchester...she sez Soda now, still prefers Zweigles grrrrrrr)

the cooney argument is mostly old school v. younger group. if you don't know better ...you would say "co-knee". I understand. If I came from out of town, I would say it that way too.

Pulaski: Pulaskee or Pulask-eye?

I believe the guy who it was named after has a "skee" pronunciation at the end so you can tell the town they pronounce it incorrectly

Near Rochester there is a town called Charlotte. Is it Shar-Lot or Shar-Lit like the one in NC? Hint: If you are in Rochester they know you are a foreigner if you say Shar-Lit. But you can always tell them they pronounce it incorrectly :)

I think we need a separate Hot Dog Board.

Yes...that is the boondocks (is that term racist too?...oh...nevermind)...far from the epicenter of Syracuse. By the time the word "coney" made it out to you by covered wagon, they pronounced it "cooney".

You do realize that tipp hill is 3 blocks from Armory Square right? That would be the epicenter or the city my friend

i haven't been to heids in about three years, definitely will get there this summer. is their sausage sandwich gianelli sausage?

I'm up at my camp opening up...this weekend. Just had my first Snappy Griller since late Sept. Nothing like one anywhere else. I hope these new restaurants will serve the coneys on New England style rolls. Too bad you can't mass produce salt potatoes and have them any good.

Had a mixed double this afternoon after the Chiefs game. Also can any of our Turning Stone regulars confirm if the hot dog cart has switched over to Hoffman's yet from Nathans?

Big ups to Hofmanns. Ordered 20 pounds of dogs on Monday, they arrived at my door in Alaska last night. If only my gramma was that quick with her cookies and brownies.

This thread is killing me. Makes me too hungry! Toga, fyi, the Price Chopper in Malta carries Hofmann's products now ...we bought some coney's and franks there the other day.
