I was never much of a Jeff Healy fan, but he did cover a couple of John Hiatt songs on his 1988 debut album, and John Hiatt can elevate anyone.

but few covers of Hiatt can match the man himself. I posted a couple cuts from what I believe is the best album of the entire decade - Hiatt's 1987 issue Bring the Family - in the early days of this thread. Here are a few from the 1989 follow up Slow Turning that nearly matched the 87 effort.
