Class of 2024 OT Kam Pringle (SC) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/29/25)

If they know they can't beat him out, you don't want them anyhow.
Absolutely. We signed 7 OL freshman for 2025, two are on campus now.

We signed 4 last year, and three already left because they couldn’t handle the competition, and knew they were unlikely to ever play. EDIT: as tep624 pointed out below, only two left.

The same thing will probably happen every year. The best players play, the lesser players leave… Then we recruit more players to see who can compete.

And we’re going to fill in with transfers when we need to fill in with transfers.

That's how you build a foundation which is what the good teams do.

Just to put it on paper. 12 alone in 2025.

25 Incoming FR (7)
Washington
Stewart
Mann
Harvey
Shepard
Hawn
Scatliffe

25 Transfers (5)
Ferguson
Rice
Pringle
Collins
Betrand

24 FR (4)
Goodacre (TR - Texas St) - Dino Recruit
Rosahac (TR - Delaware) - Dino Recruit
Travis Brown-Miller
Vito Shevcenko

24 Transfers (4)
Washington (Graduated - NFL)
Hornsby (TR - Tulsa)
Weatherspoon
Miller

Hornsby is the only true Fran recruit so far to leave with eligibility. It's still very early of course though and young OL take time to develop.

Looking back at 23

23 FR (2)
Bass (TR - UCONN)
Mack

23 Transfers (4)
Reed (TR - USC)
Moeolo (TR - Texas St)
Wohlabaugh (TR - Virginia)
More (TR - Arkansas)

Part of why the 2025 FR class was so big was that Dino only took 2 OL FR in 2023, one of which already left.

2022 was even worse #'s wise - 2 FR OL and that was it, Schuster and Joe Cruz. You can pretty clearly see the shift in strategy 2022/2023 vs 2024/2025.

A much more thorough way of saying my point. Bravo

From a SC Fan

Pringle has a great chance of being an all-ACC guard for y'all, and if he's as good as he was billed coming out of high school, could be at tackle too. we have a freshman all-american left tackle and a three-year starter right tackle, and brought back both guards - one who was a higher touted tackle himself. he wasn't even the "highest" guard on the depth chart to transfer out. we'ver recruited well there for the first time maybe ever.

Would LOVE to see a home state kid have had success at SC, but the moment we went back to the portal to grab a more experienced guard for depth, his upside this year was third-string and pray for injury, and Beamer even said the transfer out was about playing time. really good kid with a lot of talent, and hope he balls out up there. every clued in SC fan I know thinks he'll be fantastic, and this could totally just be a scheme preference for him to have gotten buried rather than a talent thing. no idea there.

What tier of program is South Carolina considered to be these days? I don’t follow the SEC closely enough to say, but my friend is a diehard, and from what I gather, he sees them as roughly Syracuse-level compared to the rest of their conference.
So we're talking playoff contender? ;)
