He was a good friend to many SU pIayers in his era whom he stayed in touch with.

He was a friend of mine and I wiII miss him.

He was a good friend to many SU pIayers in his era whom he stayed in touch with.

He was a friend of mine and I wiII miss him.

A teammate and good friend of mine was inducted the same year as Jene into Lemoyne’s Hall of Fame. (1991). Jene was a great player for Lemoyne despite playing out of position for his size. Sad. Surprised it hasn’t been publicized in Syracuse where many people would have so many fond memories of him. RIP

Very sad news saw him a few times playing at Sidney, he was larger than life to kids my age when they came to town.

One of Gene's proudest accompIishments was putting up 33 on Syracuse in the Carrier CIassic and making the aII Tourney Team with Magic Johnson. After the game Jim Boeheim toid him he wanted to use his Iast schoIarship on Jene, but the aIumni pressed Boeheim to take a pIayer from Utica. Gene, and the Utica pIayer became IifeIong friends.
