ot Matt Park

I know Matt and disagree. He is a down to earth and very friendly guy.you can have any opinion you want on his broadcasting but this little attack on his character is crap.
You are correct Dc. Bad job by me with the third party stuff. I do believe wholeheartedly the info I've been told about what its like to work with him, but if I didn't witness it first hand, its not my place to bring it here. good point. Keep in mind, that person told me he's a very nice guy like I mentioned in the post you disagree with.

Matt seems like a hard working, likeable guy. I also think he loves SU and loves his job. I've come to like his work a little more each year. I don't listen to football games on the radio that much, but in the few I have, I think he does a good job. Seems like he does his homework, and I like he and Gedney together.

He can't recreate the Doug Logan excitement in his voice, but few can.

I don't see a Tirico-like arc in his career (probably a bad example because Tirico is the best in the business), but I'd have no problem with him being our voice of the Orange for a long time to come. He seems happy where he is.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that also had no idea about what was going on from his calling of the game.

That said, he was without a doubt the worst radio play-by-play announcer I've ever heard while listening to a football game. I'd have rather someone just put a mic in the Dome and hear the PA announcer and random comments from the crowd.

I spoke with him briefly at a Chiefs game this summer and he seemed like a very nice guy. He's always friendly when I call the show and I have exchanged a couple of E-mails about the show and he's been very co-operative.

My memory of Doug Logan is that he shared the trait of describing the play before giving us the result. Nobody's perfect.

Eh, Matt has to be a saint compared to Logan when it comes to workplace personality. I saw first hand Logan treat newbies / interns with compete disdain. Completely unprofessional.

Logan had his technical shortcomings doing PBP as well, but his overall enthusiasm more than made up for it. And he will always be the Voice in my head when reliving SU sport moments.

Let me put it this way...I'd rather share a beer with Mart Park while listening to Logan do play by play...than the other way around. That is for sure.

I don't listen to the radio broadcasts much for football. Either I am at the Dome or for road games watching on TV. When I have left the Dome (when its a blowout loss) early I might catch the final minutes of the game on the car ride home, half the time I have no idea what he and Gedney are talking about. The play by play isn't great and then the banter where they try to be funny and such just doesn't work. It's bad radio.

For basketball I have caught the radio broadcasts a bit more if I am driving in the early evening and miss the start or part of a game. Matt is better at hoops for sure, still not great but better. I see him as a local talent though and never making the leap to a FOX or ESPN type. He just isn't that good.
