Perhaps Belichick's opponents should stock up on these:

In related news the NFL has switched to Goodyear footballs for the latest in run flat footballs... So fans of every other NFL team can stop whining

i only follow football casually but which game did i glance at where there was an extended break while they looked for a football? the announcers said something to the effect of being "scuffed up". if it was that obvious on the field to the officials then the balls should have been checked. not sure how that's done. cup and cough????

How all us in mass think about this

And this sums up how the rest of us feel about fitzy...he's just not that funny.

There is soooo much potential for him to be hysterical, but he always falls short.

He needs help, a ghost writer...a cheater, to help him get over the hump.

But unlike the pats, he hasn't got one yet.

They should recast "Wall Street" with everyone from the Patriots saga.

Belichick would play Gordon Gekko.
Mangini could be Bud Fox.
Gisele could play Darianne
Ollie The Terminator could be played by Charlie Weiss
Baltimore Harbaugh could be the James Spader character
Tony Dungy could play Bud's dad
Tom Coughlin could be Larry Wildman
Don Shula could play the Hal Holbrook role

It's the same morality play in a different format.

The reaction is so over the top, it's gamesmanship at most.

Slippery slope. Rules are rules for everyone.

The league chose to look the other way in lieu of penalty when the Vikings were caught using a heater on their footballs. So the rules aren't the rules for everyone apparently

exactly.

we can overreact on here all we want...

heres my terms...

- $500k fine
- take away the 1st and 2nd round pick
- suspend BB from the SuperBowl or 8 games next year
- make tommy admit he cant throw a real football without help, take away TDs and Yards (or give him the baseball steroid treatment)

but the reality is...of the 4 above, dont be surprised if 2 or 3 of them ring true (yes, i know the last wont. but hes a cheating loser forever to me now)

Maybe I would look at it differently if we had lost one of those super bowls but I am just not that worked up about this. I really believe everyone does something. They got caught so they have to be punished but until I hear that it gave them a big advantage and no one else is doing anything like this, eh

I would add some salary cap punishment.

In the midst of bounty gate, Saints and their fans maintained the "everyone does it" defense, but Payton, coordinators, and Vilma were all suspended/fined. So, how would BB and StTommy escape? By pinning it all on a ball boy :noidea:

exactly again.

sure everyone does it...till its on the front page of the NYTimes.

then the hammer must drop.

word on the street is that every baseball pitcher uses some kind of pinetar or adhesive on their fingers to get a better grip to pitch. pineda is the dumarse to put it on his neck for everyone to see.

BOOM, fine and suspension.

they doctored the balls...fine and suspension are on its way. and because the pattern of lack of institutional control (where have i heard that before?) or willfull disregard, is quite evident...they get draft picks whacked.

To me, this is analogous to a baseball hitter being caught using a corked bat.
