NCAA Press Release

Terrible start to the Mark Emmert/NCAA rehab tour. This is crazy. It's going to give all those Ped St deniers and JoePa apologists a leg to stand on.

Terrible, terrible decision.

The Penn State punishment had been the signature moment of Emmert's tenure. This shows how unpopular and over-the-top that punishment was.

If Miami gets ANYTHING now I will offer my services pro bono to anybody affiliated with Miami and sue the bejesus off the NCAA. What a crock of crap from the NCAA.

Yup. Miami should definitely walk now. At this point, the NCAA should compensate them for putting them on probation back in the 90s.

The train to punish Miami left the station a while ago. The NCAA turns out to be a bigger joke than we all thought it was.

Watch, now they'll reinstate the wins eventually as well. What a joke. What's the O/U timeframe for the JoePa statue to be back in place?

Mark Emmert has now shown he will do anything to stay in power. With this move, the NCAA has now jumped the fence to PSU's camp. Disgusting.

PSU and their apologist fan base.

How the fluck has the NCAA ruled two times on Penn State before it has ruled once Miami. I mean the freaking NCAA violated the law in gathering evidence against Miami and they haven't given them any leniency when Miami has self-imposed a 2 year bowl ban and Penn State has gotten most of its scholarships back now. Miami missed out on a chance to play for the ACC title last year by self-imposing this ban. Emmert is nothing short of a fraud trying to keep his million dollar salary as long as he can.

If I EVER see another sanction for something like paying the airfare for a kid to attend a relative's funeral - someone's gonna get hurt.

So much for concerns about inappropriate tweeting.

This just goes to show what a toothless tiger the NCAA really is. Having governance without enforcement is a joke.

Situational enforcement, letting big programs off easy, ignoring blatant rules bending [Cam Newton situation], etc. while simultaneously going hard after schools that commit relatively minor infractions totally undermine the NCAA's credibility [looks like Tark had them pegged correctly after all].

BTW, still waiting to hear from the NCAA on the alleged rules violations that their inside source leaked both prior to the 2012 and 2013 NCAA tournaments. I believe the description was something like, "if you throw a dart at the rules book, you'll hit something SU is violating." Again, what a joke.

One wouldn't have thought that possible.

How nice that those student athletes will have a chance to earn a scholarship to such a fine, upstanding institution of higher learning and social responsibility.

So, as they say, what have we learned?

The joke that is the NCAA strikes again.

That had to be some kind of payout.

Ok USC, you're on the clock. Open up your wallet and get your scholarships back.

Wouldn't hurt Miami to start thinking down payment right about now either.

Incredible.
A few players who walked and a few scholarships for a couple of years ... for the biggest institutional sports coverup.
Not even a slap on the wrist.

It may be time for the NCAA to impose the death penalty on itself.
