Class of 2022 OT Rahtrel Perry (NY) Portal from Central Connecticut State

Syracuse is never going to have enough NIL to be wasteful. We do have enough to be competitive. We also have a great staff that knows how to identify and recruit HS talent. We can build a solid team with enough depth to get through an entire season with this approach. Keep the kids that prove up and are good fits, spend money on strategic players in the portal and coach well. If we do that which is what Fran did in his first season, we will always be competitive and occasionally be excellent.
If the current resurgence of Syracuse football continues, more, and perhaps much more NIL money will become available. Syracuse has a large and very wealthy alumni that needs to be activated. A few more 10 win seasons and continued bowl success will drive NIL revenue.

And effffff off? Ban this fool

I apologize. I’ll delete that but what’s with all the incessant complaining about everything the coach does who just won us 10 games and kept us from being irrelevant. I don’t get.

Fran's future success will be driven in part by his success getting big donors on board.

In case you missed my other posts on the subject, I expect the goal is to win as many games as possible, and I'd expect 6-8 wins from next year. But saying making a run at the playoffs is a pipe dream isn't a negative statement.

And using the year as an "iron sharpens iron" year with a lot of underclassmen going into '26 is a great strategy.
"A run at the playoffs next year is a pipe dream" is absolutely a negative statement.
Expecting to limp into a bowl next year is a sad way to think. I expect to win every game...until we dont.
We crush Tenn to start and everyone else will be an underdog from this fans point of view.
Last time I thought we would lose we beat Clemson.

So all the players that didn't contribute to this year's success all got pay raises so they wouldn't leave.
Yup that makes sense. This whole system seems sustainable.
How do you come up with that interpretation?

There is a lot of room between making a run at the playoffs and limping into a bowl game.

Absolutely, winning 6-8 games would basically be limping into a bowl.
Clearly 6-7 wins would be. Expecting anything less than a chance at making the playoffs is a losers attitude and negative.
Ive never played a sport expecting to lose a game going in. I have very rarely been a fan of a team expecting them to lose any game beforehand. Last time I did...we won.
Against all odds, I believe...Im a fanatic.
Realism cannot occupy space in a die hard fans sense of beliefs. If it does you may be a 'real' fan but not die hard.
Expecting to lose 4-6 games next season is pathetic.
It is offending to me...I would have been offended going into 2007.
If an "expert" predicted a 6-6 season next year we would call him an idiot that didnt do any research.

I would love to see someone say to Fran’s face that a run at the playoffs next year is a pipe dream. That would be a lot of fun.

Okay let's take money off the table, if you were a prospect looking to play in the NFL and loved the tradition and pageantry of college football, please rank the following choices for which school will accomplish your goal: Syracuse, Ohio St, Florida.
If I did very well at a lower level, Syracuse might be at the top of my list. I mean we are talking about a transfer here.
The risk going to the OHstates would be to potentially be behind and on the bench in favor of a surefire top draft pick, solely based on 1 coachs opinion that you most likely shouldnt trust.
Coach Day potentially wasted 1 full college season for McCord for no reason whatsoever...clearly didnt have his players best interests in his mind at all. I wouldnt trust him.
I would trust Fran to set me up for success to the best of his ability as long as I do what I am supposed to do. Whether thats in football or not.

Depends on what risk you wanna take, if you are confident enough to bet on yourself and trust in your coaches.
Depends on if you wanna have an unsuccesful season at OHst with a record of 11-3 and lost in the shuffle or be a part of rebuilding a program and creating a legacy.
Alot of variables that differ for everyone.
