OT: Waste of time wont happen realignment

Ok yes I was bored lol. I was thinking, if we started from scratch, what would be the best way to align conferences and create a playoff system. In 2013 there will be 127 FBS schools. Personally, I think the ideal number for a conference is 9. 4 home, 4 away for football. 16 games, home and home with everyone for BBall. So I figured 14 9 team conferences based on geography (Sorry Georgia State FBS is full at 126 so get out lol). Conference champs and two wild cards enter a 16 team championship tourny. Others play bowl games as they do now.
1. Syracuse, UMass, BC, UConn, Army, Rutgers, Temple, Penn St, Buffalo
2. Pittsburgh, Maryland, Navy, WVU, Kent St, Akron, Marshall, Ohio, Ohio St
3. Virginia, VTech, Old Dominion, East Carolina, NC State, Duke, UNC, WakeF, Charlotte

Clearly the best way to do this is to pick four super conference commissioners, put all of the teams on the board and have a fantasy conference draft at Buffalo Wild Wings. The only rule: each commish gets a footprint and for every pick outside the footprint, he has to take one shot for every 100 miles away that school is.

Odds that system could come up with four conferences that make more sense than whatever we end up with in the real world? 96%.
