But that things like this are said about friggin basketball practice facilities is making me not even like college sports anymore. The whole thing is just getting too stupid for me.

Do state colleges have avenues to funnel millions from athletics to fight the opiod crisis? Most of these ultra-swanky athletic facilities are the result of state schools earning more money from athletics than they know what to do with. Gotta spend it.

I'm sure millions go to more altruistic endeavors. Build better facilities, get better recruits, win more games, make more money to fund academic stuff.
