Our PGs appear

Yep but did you see Gillion? I'm a little concerned after this first game about our backup PG spot, Wisconsin will be a telling game for that position

We go nine minutes without a field goal and your biggest concern is our back up point guard, what were you watching?

With howard and gillon on the floor together, I prefer howard at the point, and that is just what jb did. Perhaps because gillon is so fast, has range on his three, and has the potential to use his speed to create seperation for assists. He also throws the long ball entry pass well, probably better then howard, which is a nice feature for sg's to have. Gillon needs to be allowed more of out of control green light at sg, as does howard when he is at pg with gillon next to him.

I think we may see a lot of this lineup as the year goes on, and white doesn't necessarily have to be in with this lineup.

Of course not, but that's not really the point, is it?
It's my personal observation that our fanbase was premature and jumped the gun in reference to the current status of this years team. IMO, today's result pours cold, and yes, much-needed water on all that overblown hype.
Your question OTOH, simply points out the obvious, which is that what we do on these boards or as a fanbase, has zero affect on the teams performance. Well no isht, Sherlock.
And yet here we are, still posting, arguing, and relating our opinions. I guess that's what message boards are for, no? My opining that the hype was overblown, and a loss was a wake up call to the fanbase, is just that...mine. Agree? Disagree? Well, that's why we're here.

I'm interested in how the rotations shake out at guard. I really have no idea where we end up this year. I haven't liked Gillon much thus far, I mean, I love him as a energy-boosting back-up, but he never (even while dominating cupcakes) seemed poised to eat up a TON of minutes to me. I was a little surprised to see him go so much run as the 2G yesterday - but I've mostly been thinking of him as the secondary PG as opposed to a 2G (even though he seems better suited for that role). I'm not sour on the kid, but the jury is still out for me.

Yup, if you were watching the same game as me you would see a lot of good players that have not played together a lot. It's called chemistry and the offense will get better throughout the season. But what I am concerned with is the back up PG because of you have a bad PG running the offense you have no offense

I don't know. Hard to get anything done when the PGs especially in the 1H were dribbling in place and stalling out big time. The cutting was lazy and the players were taking so many bad angles to the ball. I don't know if a Boeheim team though has enough complexity in it's offensive scheme to beat a really good M2M team unless it is a team with some lottery picks. It seemed like very few possessions against South Carolina led to an open shot. It is early I know but I don't like what I saw in terms of what they were trying to do on offense. They all looked like they were lost and running around like
a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. Michigan got some good looks but were cold from outside. Not looking forward to seeing probably another output in the 50s on Tues. Really like Sindarius Thornwell.

What scares me most with Gillon is his play against smaller guards like the monmouth guard. He wasn't driving by his man, and constantly shielded the ball with his back to his man. That led to a couple bad entry passes, and no threat to drive which good pressure defenses will take advantage of, cheat on and treat as lob passes. By comparison Gillon got by his guy with ease yesterday with and without high screens.
