Our recruiting against peers

If they are trying to play P5 football, they have aspirations to play pro ball. If they don't, they should play at a lower level where they will have more time to focus on their studies. When Gbo comes on this board and says that after Saban retires, Dabo will go to 'Bama and Clemson will move on Dino, he's serious. And I can tell you that there are a lot of other people much higher them him that have their eye on Babers. Unless you think powerful people who make decisions in this billion dollar industry are just haphazard and pull names out of a hat.
1.7 percent go on to play pro ball. The average career is 18 months. If you are advising a kid to base all of his decisions on that, you are doing him a horrible disservice. The other 98% should not play at a lower level. If we're being honest, every kid that could get admitted to an ivy, SHOULD, but they don't. They choose the life experience of playing in front of a ridiculous amount of people, and on TV. Because there is value in the experience.

Recruits aren't reading gbo's comments, or the others. That's what fans do. I guess no one will commit to Clemson or Bama because those guys might leave..

Our recruiting isn't behind, because Babers might leave.

Who are the powerful people that have voiced an interest in Babers? Didn't hurt recruiting, last year.

He has 3 years left on his contact, do you think that is useful? Do you think he has proved himself here yet? I have been a mild wait and see critic of Babers, but I've seen enough. If they wait much longer and make him prove more, he may get perturbed and then you have problem on your hands. If he isn't already.

He rode shafers arse.

He was an absolute failure when he ran the ship himself, looked more like he rode DM's arse. All of a sudden his defense was a shell of itself when DM left, I wonder if DM had more input on the defense then we realize.

What if he flames out this year too? Still extend, I think not. Wait till this year is in the books and then the AD will decide. I like what he has done but we need wins, its all smoke and mirrors if he can not win.
Great start but now he has to cross the finish line. Make it to a bowl and recruits will start to come more easily for him, extending his contract is secondary to getting to that goal.

Syracuse is ranked last in recruiting in the ACC and I'm trolling because I'm throwing out reasons why this is the state of affairs. Actually, I only have pointed out one reason because for the life of me I can't think of any others that would put such a damper on Dino's ability to recruit at this point.

I'll put you in the "not convinced" category then.

I hear what you are saying, We still might do pretty well in the end. Is that where you think we should be, where Dino should be? I can easily see him at a school like Tennessee, if he went there last year, bringing in a top 20 or even top 10 class. He would have signed a big contract and been solidly in place from day 1.

It’s easier to recruit at Tennessee and a lot of other schools. But he could have gone to Mizzou instead of Syracuse and came here. I think he believes he can win here with the guys he can get.

He’s happy here. I don’t get all the hand wringing.

You can choose to trust the process or you dig around for reasons to not
