You can’t beat a team when almost everything they shoot goes in. Clearly they were the better team.

But not outsmarted!

I'll preface this by saying we likely win out the rest of 2021, but with that being said, we have some issues in terms of athleticism. I think it was noticeable today, but we can minimize those issues by hopefully playing teams with less athleticism and focusing in on winning those games.

We have a pretty slim margin for error. Also, with our depth we really can't play 3 games in 3 days. Buddy is our everything, and he was clearly gassed. Although I'm not sure even with a break it would have made much of a difference against Auburn. They really exploited some of our weaknesses - notably, ball handling, and general slow footedness.

Our insistence to turn our backs and pound the ball in the paint - that was a pretty big tactical error. They were just too quick for that.

Swider seems like he can still somewhat function on offense against athletes. Same with Buddy. Jimmy seems to have more of an issue, and JG runs so hot and cold, and lacks PG abilities. As a result, we should struggle when teams can defend, especially defend with athletes.

We'll see, but I still think we're positioned well moving forward.

We win out the rest of 2021? You haven’t looked at our schedule lol

This will never happen, but JB should try playing a soft man to man. Pinch with your bigs and play the man with the ball. Don’t go much beyond the three point line. Should be able to keep guys in front of you and we would rebound better.

JB can still coach, but he doesn’t have the athletes he use to have. I don’t know what they’re looking at when they evaluate players. I’m starting to wonder if our recruiting has suffered because we‘re not “offering“ what we use to before the sanctions. We no longer control New Jersey. Leaving the Big East seems to have killed our northeast recruiting. Seton Hall, Villanova and now UCONN are reaping the benefits.

Seton Hall was terrible for so long. It’s infuriating to see them as an actual contender in the new Big East (even if it’s nowhere near as good as the old Big East) and stealing players from us.

I said it in the game thread, but I don't know how JB could hear Flynn and Harris ask to play M2M and laugh it off, but can now look at the zone, and willingly stack the team with whatever it is we have out there trying to play defense.

“He can still coach” meaning no one will force him out right?

That's almost as possible as JB playing a 3-3 zone.

If I spent money on the Bahamas trip I would not be happy. What an embarrassment.

Don’t regret a second of it, not only was it great experience to see the games played in a glorified bingo hall but the other things we did as a family were a lot of fun, not to mention the near 80 degree weather everyday and I missed the in laws for Thanksgiving, win all the way around.

Yes the 2 games were disappointing to say the least but if we ever come back I would recommend those that can make the trip to do so, especially if you have little ones.

We still couldn’t stop anyone playing a 3-3 zone. Jimmy and Cole may have to get their necks checked for looking up so much watching dunks.

I mean it wasn't just that, they were running alley oop drills and we had no answer.

Our forwards were cowed by them. We need a tough guy to hand out a couple hard fouls when teams do that to us.

I wouldn't. I would have gone knowing the weather is a nice consolation. Now if this were the Great Alaska Shootout, I'd be mad I wasted my money.
