Per 247 there are only 2 Punters ranked in the 2025 class and 5 kickers. Gregg is the highest punter at an 83 and the highest kicker ranking is 81.

in the 2026 class there were 15 punters and 30 kickers ranked. 83 was the highest Punter and 82 was the highest kicker.

Seems strange to me as i would think a really good Kicker is slightly more valuable than a really good Punter. Both can be pretty valuable though. Seems like the best of them should get a little higher ranking than they do but maybe they feel like its too much of a crap shoot to predict who will do well in college.

Jim Gregg is a very smart individual. The best punter in the country could not have been more impressed on his OV.

This interview gives you a great picture of how much Fran Brown cared about him during his time at SU on his OV with his dad.

Everything was covered - from his greeting, breakfast and dinner with the coaches, a gift for his father on Sunday morning for Father's Day, sitting in Newhouse being talked to by people who are Newhouse majors and showing Jim how Fran raises his son to treat everyone with respect and DART.

This shows through Jim how recruits are treated with so much respect by Fran Brown and why Fran Brown IS the best recruiter in the country

Let’s talk about the kicking situation.

Storehouse is a senior. We definitely need someone to replace him and the walk ons did I not look close to being D1 ready as punters. So we are definitely going to add a punter. I assume a scholarship will be awarded and this guy appears to be plenty good enough to merit one.

At placekicker, it appears Kennedy lost his appeal and we pivoted to walk-on Jadyn Oh as his replacement. I believe he is going to be a sophomore. I believe we awarded him a scholarship.

But we have placekickers coming in for visits (one is coming in this weekend, probably is already on campus). Could we offer one a scholarship (they seem top of the line)? And then have 3 scholarships tied up with kicking in 2026? A punter and two placekickers?

I wonder if Oh was given a conditional scholarship, with the understanding it might not be around in 2026 unless he has a great season this year? Is that even possible anymore? Thought scholarships were to be honored for 4 seasons now.

Maybe Gregg is good enough to punt and placekick? That would be awesome.

We need someone who can KO - and it's a non - returnable ball every time. Touchback every time. Denaburg was 156 - 198 for two years as the primary KO specialist. I hope Gregg can KO as well as punt we do not need anyone to touch the ball and return it!
