Panthers Fire Paul Pasqualoni

"The game was passing him by"

Please explain.
it's such a lazy trope. Old guy, game passed him by.

He knows more about football than Dino is my guess. I also would guess Dino has alot more energy at this point than Paul. Both things can be right. Still think Paul should be given a long overdue ovation from the faithful.

What does this even mean? Are they, like, super into home insulation? French detective work? Catchy jazz riffs?

What a dumb move by Carolina. Yeah, firing the DL and CB coaches this week will totally turn the season around. What a joke of a franchise.
In the story "the Pink Panther" was a diamond, but it was also a metaphor for the foolish Clousseau.

Let's make something clear, when they fired Coach P it almost put me off SU football forever. I was flamed by the lynch mob over on the old board like crazy. What's our record since the fans got their way. With the quality of the competition decreased are we even .400? Panthers can't fire the losers on the front seven so they get rid of "P".

I said it back then and I'll say it now. SU WILL NEVER RECRUIT WITH THE BIG STATE SCHOOLS the same way those schools recruit. We've got to offer a different package. I believe coaching continuity is the first step in creating that package.

It’s especially absurd considering he has remained in the game coaching every single year.

this is NOT the time to get into any of this. Guy deserves respect as a coach, even more as a human being. There will be another time for the other stuff, and I'll be here for it.
I didn't start it. Why is it not the time? He didn't die. Moreover, it's water under the bridge now. I think the alumni lynch mob got their just deserts in twenty years of abject mediocrity on the football field.

sorry didn't mean to single you out. Lets just push for some type of formal recognition ceremony that he deserves and after that we can all flame each other with our brilliant takes!

No one has come close to his success since Gross Cantor canned him. Pick his brain and use him as a resource. Do it Wildhack.
FIFY

The Panthers are such a mess. The relatively new ownership is proving to be very difficult - ridiculously high and seemingly consistent turnover in the front office of both the Panthers and MLS CLTFC, failed training facilities/HQs for both football and soccer, and the Panthers overall lack of any semblance of being a football team, never mind Baker Mayfield
the Panthers. Pauls a great coach.

The recruiting game changed. Coach P was too honorable to get dirty in that cesspool. The game of football changed with pass happy spread Os. Tom Osbourne's system would not work today. That doesn't mean he wasn't a legendary HC in his era.

Coach P was great in his era, but that era ended in 2000. We lost to Temple because he had no clue how to stop the spread. Same thing happened against other spread teams. His way of playing football was no longer effective. Why did he fail at UConn? He didn't forget how to coach football. But his way was behind the times.

Wait till next year and do it right. It is also the 25th anniversary of the 1998 team.
Doesn't matter when they do it. Sala's crew will still screw it up.

Most of Temple's offense in that 2004 disaster was Walter Washington over LG or RG. I don't recall much spread.
