Its fascinating to me that college basketball analysts continue to be paid to do what they do, and even more so, that people continue to listen.

Throughout the entire season and leading into the Tournament. The running line was "There is no dominant team...anyone can win the Dance this year". This was evidenced by the ritual of musical chairs at the top of the polls week in and week out.

Yet, come bracket time. most analysts, particularly the most vocal ones, do the same thing. They go chalk chalk chalk. The daring ones had 2 2's and 2 1's. Most had 3 1's (everyone from the establishment jumped on the fact that Gonzaga was a 1 to look bold and pick the 2 in that bracket).

They never learn.

The Final Four is now 1,4,4,9.

Of course, every single analyst says its Louisville all the way.

They never learn.

Louisville is a talented team. But Michigan is playing the best offensive basketball in the country right now. Syracuse is playing the best defense in the country right now. And frankly, Syracuse, the last time these teams played, dominated the first half of that game before they, admittedly, fell victim to the press.

Do they handle it better if they are not so mentally and physically exhausted after that grueling BET run? Who knows. I hope we get the chance to find out.

You want to call Louisville the favorite? Fine. But if we somehow make it past Michigan, and we do face off against Louisville, to give us no chance is a glaring indication that you have not been paying attention.

Believe in parity.

I loved your post! Yes, I noticed virtually all of the analysts did chalk. And they're picking against us again, just like 2003.

(Creepy side note. 2 weeks ago I said, "Wouldn't it be funny if Wichita won the whole thing?" Funny, as in horrifying.)
