party school designation

My family is a testament to the success that comes out of the Law school at Cuse. Federal District Court Senior Judge(Great Uncle), D.A.(2nd Cousin, Judges son), and a Defense attorney with her own firm(Mother). For some reason the Law school is not highly ranked, but does have some distinguished alums. Back in the day my great uncle also taught some courses at the Law school. (80's I think)
legit question --were they all in onondaga county--or therabouts

This reply was so simple, yet so effective.

I have no idea where this nervousness comes from. We have always been known as a party school, and a strong academic school. You can say that if/when you win, that place will go bonkers!

Conversely, if we were known as the worst party school in the nation, do you think recruits would say "that's where I wanna be!"

10 second pitch: It's cold up there, but you get a great education, have a great network for a career after graduation, and you have the best time in the nation while going to school. Hmm, I think that's a pretty good sell ...
strong academic school, in the past.yes i agree, but not anymore. very high priced and academically mediocre---we need to go to the next tier to compete with the elite (non ivy) privates, and elite publics. need to upgrade the law school, and i dare say, maybe find a way to retake the med school as suny upstate is plagued with issues. almost all the privates have a med school and highly raked law school ---we have neither

Our law school is pretty much considered a joke.

This is true. It's towing an anchor in our university ranking.

SUNY Update Law School has a nice ring to it. Or maybe ESF will take it.

SU COL is not good. I didn't even consider it and if it was better I would has as a joint MBA with Whitman or Masters with Maxwell would be appealing to law students. I did my work study at the SU COL and the professors were not good the only who was even a little interesting was Terry Turnipseed. The Maxwell Con law professor Ken Bybee was better than he SU COL and working with the registrar he bar pass rate wasn't elite compared to other NY schools.

The law school just needs to get better professors if they want to improve. Better professors gets you more writings in law journals and the school can toot its own horn and get higher ranked to get better students.

My Uncle and Cousin are in that area yes. My mother practiced in Rochester where we lived, but is now practicing in Virginia Beach. You maybe know of them?
