Consistent winning is a little easier to do when you get 16-18 games per season against Portland, Pacific, Pepperdine, San Francisco, etc... and then get to schedule yourself around 10 other non-conference cupcakes on top of the ones you already get in the WCC. Now they just have to keep this current run going for another 21 years or so just to catch up to where we are right now!

As good as Gonzaga has been over the past 20 or so years - and don't misunderstand me, I think Mark Few is an amazing coach and I have nothing but respect for him and the program he's built and sustained - it's worth noting that they have 1 Final Four appearance and 0 National Championships during this run.
Im not talking about the past 20 years. I’m talking about the last 5-6. Maryland is reloading every year now. We’re not.

Are we really a level below Maryland, though? It's not like they've been killing it since they moved to the Big 10... nothing higher than a 4-seed and nothing better than one Sweet 16 appearance (obviously prior to this year)... their 4-star twin big men transferred out because they weren't happy.

I think we know why we've been behind a program like Louisville (who we still regularly beat on the court, btw). But Michigan has been up and down, with multiple double-digit loss seasons and a missed tournament recently. We're right there with the Michigans and the Marylands of the world... even with the current downturn we find ourselves in...
Maryland has been a consistent top 25 team the past 5-6 seasons since we’ve been on a downturn.

you’d be complaining all over the place if Boeheim got verbals from any of the bums Pitino brought in to Iona.
I just want to win a recruiting battle .I was watching the Michigan final four game last night. The talent, size, length we had on the floor was ridiculous at every position. I know what we used to be

Even for players that are not very good? I don't want to win those battles.

Also, is Rick Pitino cheating already? How is he recruiting when the NCAA has suspended recruiting right now?

You know how you know whether Rick Pitino is cheating on the recruiting trail?

He's employed.

Pitino just got the job. Look who he his bringing in. Coming off of bad press and scandal yet off to a flying start. We specialize in excuses not results.
Yeah saw he got about 6 commitments in a week, not sure if they are any good but he is not sitting back and observing

I looked. Yeah, let's put some guys on scholarship who will never see the floor in ACC play.
They might not have any stars, but i'd be nervous if we scheduled them next year. Such is Rick.

Correct me if I am wrong but its only on campus visits that are shutdown along with in home and visiting high schools
Calls, texts, video conferences with prospective student athletes can continue and if a kid wants to announce theirs nothing stopping that
This is my understanding

Correct. But who is committing based on text messages or phone calls? Think there's a reason the NCAA is warning people.

Good question and the answer is probably fringe level prospects who don't have a lot of options with the exceptions of Tape and Towns who chose home state schools they have familiarity with

I’m guessing the commitment didn’t stick? The Athletic had an article talking about his commitment... seemed quick to me. Maybe Duke wanted a better big or Pat was impulsive on the commitment.
