PAY THAT MAN HIS MONEY!!!!

Honest, non-political question, so don't roast me: Can Fran be as openly religious with his players at a state school? Some things he says are not allowed at public K-12 schools but I am curious if it is an issue at the university level.
He’s free to express his faith because he’s an adult coaching other adults, and universities operate under different rules than K-12 schools. Talking about God or faith with players isn’t coercion—it’s sharing beliefs and guidance, which is protected under freedom of religion. At this level, it’s about mentorship and values, not enforcing doctrine.

We don't need to see anything else just pay the guy long term big buyout.

The problem is that Fran would want his staff to get the money before himself so the university is gonna have to figure out how to pay Fran and increase staff salaries.
And need to produce more NIL to keep and add more great players .

I think an underrated factor is keeping Wildhack for a while. I can't imagine Fran doesn't feel a lot of loyalty to him for going out on a limb in hiring him when he had no coordinator experience after previously being turned down by Temple. He likely wouldn't feel that same loyalty with a new AD

Thanks. You could have answered the same way without giving me a dislike for asking. You know, free speech and all.

You’re right, my bad. I didn’t mean to come off that way. Definitely appreciate the question—free speech applies both ways, and it’s a fair discussion about faith and coaching at the college level.

All depends on his family in my opinion. Let's not forget he has said many times he wants his younger kids to grow up without moving around every year. Not to mention Fran Brown Jr just is wrapping up his 1st year on campus. It's easy to forget he was double promoted and Syracuse put our necks on the line with him making a ballsy move like that.

Winters are brutal and the town has it's problems but he is already being looked at us as a Hero not just on the hill but everywhere in NY and where there are Cuse fans relocated. He also has a huge fanclub of supporters that would normally not care at all about SU but they love him as a coach. He's the one coach in the ACC that is fighting back against impossible odds that the SEC and B1G have set up.

Also very important - the views of the new Chancellor on sports/major college athletics. Those views will probably color the choice of the new AD (which will probably be sooner than we think - just a feeling).

That will go a long way in determining how long Fran is here. Personally, I hope he retires as Syracuse head coach. We'll see.
I lot Consigliere was a lock for the job *wink*

The extension is important but the buyout is more important. It needs to be an astronomical number for a university to pay SU so they can hire someone big after he leaves (if he leaves) and have resources ready to rock. Only Fran knows what to do here with his future, but his ties to the NE are huge and he is recruiting like crazy from Florida. And let’s be honest, having to beat Bama, UGA, Texas, LSU, Florida, and all the other sec schools is a lot harder than beating UNC and Nc state. Hes no dummy, he knows what he has here with his team and his community and donors. We always said if he wins 8 games a year he has a job for life. It’s nice to not have insane pressure like some of these other places. Insane fans, insane cultures and the south south is weird

It's up to the BOT to make sure they next Chancellor is on board with the sports programs, because that is going to play a big part into whether the University survives in the future.

the political stuff i hurting all the schools right now. Money on sport is hard to come by. In many places donations being up for sports means its down for things the school needs money for,
