PAY THAT MAN HIS MONEY!!!!

can someone explain what bnoro is saying here?
It sounds like bnoro is implying that Fran is gonna bounce for a bag and go against his own words, his own promise, and even going against what the lord gave him because he has said publicly he prayed for this!! I don’t like when Bnoro says stuff because he is 99% of the time correct.. i might go cry now..

I didn’t see or read his message, but I would assume the spirit of one of his messages essentially was:

“Teams with deeper pockets, better program infrastructure, and better recruiting territory/ pipelines are probably going to throw lots and lots of money at Fran. He likes it at Cuse, but he is only human.

Syracuse will never be able to compete with the outrageous NIL pools of the big boys, and there is no contract buyout big enough to deter them from going after Fran if they deem he is their guy.

There is no such thing as locking him up. If Fran continues on his current trajectory, this will be a yearly problem for us (and a yearly option for Fran).

So enjoy him while he’s here (which hopefully is a long time).”

I personally think Fran is going to want to find out what his ceiling is for sustained success at Syracuse before he would entertain making a move.

As fans, attending games and contributing to NIL are the two things we can do to ensure that his ceiling is as high as possible.

And in the meantime Syracuse, you absolutely need to pay the man his money.

If Indiana can hold onto Cignetti and Iowa State can hold onto Matt Campbell, we can hold onto Fran for a few more years at least. We have much richer history than either of those programs. Fran will remain a hot commodity and won’t feel the need to rush off to the SEC for a while, if ever.

As for NIL, I thought most of the deals are getting rejected by the clearinghouse in basketball for this fall. And this will affect football for next year, yes? Which means NIL will be less of a factor going forward since many of those deals weren’t legit?

I mean… Rutgers is pretty close to home?

Rutgers and Penn State are the only two head coaching openings that would make me clench a little.
No way either of those programs has enough emotional pull to tempt him to leave. Fran and his family are so immeshed in Syracuse university and the community I can’t see him leaving unless we insult him with an offer.
I’m positive JW won’t let that happen. And I hope JW doesn’t retire anytime soon bc Fran has loyalty to him for giving him a chance when no one else would.

Also I have a suspicion that turning a historic NE program around like he’s doing and making us a national powerhouse is the kind of legacy that appeals to Fran more than going to the highest SEC bigger and trying to win a Natty somewhere in the south

Damn it feels good to be a Cuse fan again!

It’s time for Wildhack to take this issue off the table. Pay the man. Maybe not $11MM but $9MM ish sounds good. I don’t want to go through the next year hearing about this every day.

Syracuse is a ridiculously rich school. The enrollment gains that come with top tier sports teams is proven. A couple of million is a rounding error for Syracuse.
yikes

Like he was right with Calvin Russell. Oh wait...

Add 2M to assistant pool, 10m is good for NIL, but we aren’t even close, and fan support.
Then get his salary to 7m and he stays.
They raised more than ten million last year before receiving the $14-15 million for the university. We are close.
