It's easier for me to think Tyus might realistically come back than it is to think that necessarily guarantees us a Final Four.
And much more rational

Of course not but with this loaded draft do you think anyone is guaranteeing him a first round pick? There is a big difference between positioning on random mock drafts and an evaluation from NBA scouts and executives. A less than favorable eval from the NBA could definitely impact him, as iommi pointed out. The NBA doesn't care what the mock draft people think.

Sure but the same could be said about all these borderline guys. All it takes is one.
If you listen to some people Flynn was a top five pick after the 6OT game, Ennis a first round pick after a half court shot, and Mali a first rounder after one half of one half of a game. Why wouldn't a GM be dumb enough to use a first round pick on Battle?

Considering he's only listed as a first round pick in one mock it wouldn't be jaw dropping at all . we are just so shell shocked about guys leaving.
That was Pump Fake Lydon's plan also. Maybe Battle has been watching how Lydon's situation is turning out like...No. The plan before the season was for him to leave after this year. It would be very surprising to deviate from that plan.
Well, if he tests the waters how much class time would he miss between combine and workouts? If Plan B is a degree in three years could this be part of the rationale? Why all or none. Logically he should go to combine without an agent and get evaluated. Only way to get an idea on true draft position

He is likely waiting to see how many dozen other kids will declare and perusing the foreign talent pool. One thing I would bet right now, Battle doesn't know for sure what he is going to do at this moment.
Battle looking at Lydon's NBA playing time.Your blaming Lydon’s knee injury on the fact he left early? Wow.
That and the fact many people in the know seem to think he is having trouble deciding and are calling it a 50 50 deal. If it's that close how would any decision be jaw dropping? Marvin Bagley coming back would have been jaw dropping.
Throw in Golden and it's a no-brainer!Would Tyus coming back and no Bazley be a better situation than him leaving and getting Bazley?

Depends on GoldenWould Tyus coming back and no Bazley be a better situation than him leaving and getting Bazley?
As long as it isn't a blonde cheerleader that is also going with Marek. The X factor beyond The Battle family that values education is...Does Tyus have an on campus girlfriend?

We have no clue what Bazley would bring to the court. We already know what we have with Tyus. Suppose Bazley sucks on defense...like Taurean Thompson or Dante Green.Would Tyus coming back and no Bazley be a better situation than him leaving and getting Bazley?
