Yeah. just feel like something's gotta give with Maliq, Donnie, and the 4 positionIt's a valid fear - no doubt Maliq's camp is getting approached and promised a starting 4 spot at other high majors
That may be but bell is not a 2G and will never be. His handle and court vision are not very good. Also imagine him trying to man up the opposing 2G? He’s a small forward and if he stays it forces you to play Brown at center since freeman is startingFreeman can handle.

No outside shooting? If Westry is healthy, you start Westry, JJ, Copeland, Freeman, and Brown.
Let opponents try to match up with them.
You use your bench and press teams, forcing the slow fast guys to the bench.
Red wants up tempo and if you play 9 or 10 and use the press, you can force opponents to not play the bruisers in the game.
The theory would be that you at least have to guard all of those guys, even if nobody is a stud shooter. No outside shooting?
He can’t shoot enough to play the 3. JJ is playing the 2 next year guaranteed.
No one is obsessed more with height than Syracuse fans. NBA teams aren’t playing Freeman at the 3 and he’s not playing it here.
Yeah. just feel like something's gotta give with Maliq, Donnie, and the 4 position
Top 30 players should always be a fit for struggling programs (behavior issues, if any, aside). That's interesting. But, where's the fit with us? I'm hoping/assuming/PRAYING Maliq will not be a 5 again, and if he's the 4, and Donnie is the 3, then where might Mr. Rooths play? I don't think you decommit for a backup role.

My point, though, was… isn’t Donnie supposed to be the SF next year? That’s where Bell was.Replacement for Bell, if he leaves.
Sure, I’d love to be in a position to stockpile talent, but in terms of fit, i guess I was wondering from the player’s perspective. If I am a top 30 guy, would I go to a program where I don’t expect to start? Would be great to get a character guy who expected to earn it but in this era of immediacy, I think he would find a more inviting offer with a quicker path.Top 30 players should always be a fit for struggling programs (behavior issues, if any, aside).
Freeman will not play the three next year. This has been said several times. My point, though, was… isn’t Donnie supposed to be the SF next year? That’s where Bell was.
PG — ?
2G — JJ / Choppa
SF — Freeman
PF — Maliq
C — ?
Going to be a weird season, next. Two starters are expected to leave, and a guy who played a prominent 22 minutes gone, too. Then we expect to have two really good guys who both play the same position (4) so one gets shifted to SF, which pushes Bell out, a guy who shot 42% from three and was our only good perimeter threat.
I wonder if it could all work out if JJ moves to point, which leaves Bell at 2, even though he doesn’t really handle well and definitely doesn’t make plays for anyone else…. Haven’t we had teams like that? Roe, Janulis, etc?
Freeman will not play the three next year. This has been said several times.
Said by who? [It is known, Khaleesi!]Freeman will not play the three next year. This has been said several times.
Freeman was not promised a starting spot.It has also been stated many times that Freeman will start next year so if he isn't playing the 3 and Brown isn't playing the 5 does that mean Brown is going to the bench?
Well if that guy at the table over there is SeabassIt has also been stated many times that Freeman will start next year so if he isn't playing the 3 and Brown isn't playing the 5 does that mean Brown is going to the bench?
