I will not be watching IS tonight. I came on the board last NCAA selection show and only watched the board. It was good enough to get us in the tournament and to get to the sweet 16. It's good enough for Stewart.
On conference championship game sure as heck not watching a hs bball game.

If we dont get him, I will respect him a ton if he chooses UW. Not a hoops factory, just a good program with a good coach.

That being said, we have that and are not thousands of miles away from home...
Maybe family means more to me, but It just boggles my mind that these kids go across country to find something that they might be able to find a lot closer. I'm not just talking about this instance but in general. However, talking about Stewart, why wouldn't you want to be a part of this. Our upset vs Duke, he is not going to find that in the Pac-12.

It’ll be Washington and I came to terms with that long ago

It’s funny how SU fans want Stewart to stay home and represent his state and local team but in football want South Carolina kids, Jersey kids and Michigan kids to come to Syracuse.

Apples and Oranges.

When ur younger you are still trying to establish your order of priorities and what is important. I moved from NY to CO when I was younger and lived there for a little over a year for no other reason than that I could.

10 years later I can’t imagine being that far away from my parents, brother, nieces...

As for the Pac12 portion of your post - could not agree more. I try to watch Hop’s games as much as I can because I am a big fan of his - he is an extremely impressive person, but there is a JV feel to that league.

That’s right. The SU program doesn’t live or die by one recruit. We just beat the #1 team in the nation for goodness sake.
We have been a very average program for the last 5 years. There really is no denying that. This kid, I think, puts us in a elite place next year. He is worth the trouble.

Average teams don’t go to 2 Final Fours in 5 years. True overall record looks like less than what SU fans are accustomed to. But SU clearly has not been average.

I wouldn't drive 10 hours in a snowstorm to see kate Upton

A buddy of mine drove 4 hours, waited an hour for a ferry, only to see Marvin Williams announce for North Carolina instead of the home town huskies. That was a long ferry/Drive back for him

4th in total league wins behind Duke, UNC, and Virginia over that time is certainly nothing to be ashamed of and not “average.” but I think ppl expect to compete for regular season league title pretty much every year. We have not been doing that.

This year could be different. We had a GREAT week this week. We are playing good basketball all of a sudden. I have a feeling it continues.

All that said - Stewart is a stud and could be the type of player that allows us to dominate this league for a year.

We have got hot twice. And not bad for a 3rd. Take a look what our regular season records have been over the last 5 years.

I think it’s more the fact that we’ve been on the bubble every year in the ACC with the exception of the Ennis year. That post about us having the 4th most wins was a big surprise to me but it definitely put things in perspective
