Class of 2019 PF Isaiah Stewart (NY/LaLumiereIN) to Washington

I'm sure Stewart loves Hop. Everyone does. But he also when push comes to shove, have to think about going all the way to Washington to play and the disadvantages that bring. One, the distance Tough for family to see him play in person. Or even on Tv since the games start so late. Two, the terrible conference that Washington plays in. No Duke, Virginia, North Carolina games for him. The difference in success of the programs he is being recruited by. Final fours??? I'm sure this is weighing on him. I know Syracuse contacted him right after beating Duke Monday night. As did his friend Joe G who is going to Syracuse next year. If I was Washington, I would be very worried. Stewart is playing near my home on Monday. I think it is on national TV. If I'm not playing poker are a casino (I almost for sure will be) I am going to see him play . I'll say hi for you.

If I had to read between the lines, I think Stewart "likes" UW the most, but some of those factors you mention are making him hesitant. He didn't vibe with UK, but did with Duke, and is intrigued by the prestige of both. Ditto MSU, but to a far more limited extent. 'Cuse is close to home, and he has connections on the team.

He could still end up at UW. Maybe he will, if these prognostications are to be believed. But ultimately, each of the other schools have more program-level achievements and likely offer him more exposure. Will those factors steer him elsewhere? Who knows.

Ok, Boheim and a dad connected to the team are obviously biased. How come a bunch of national experts who have zero connection to either have him going to UW. 7 of 8 experts in the past few weeks have him going to UW.

They are all reading the same guy. Has Stewart ever said I'm going to Washington? Or Washington leads?
People that don't the kid are saying that. He isn't like most kids that have a person running their recruitment. he is running his own recruitment. I don't know where the kid is going. He might end up at Washington. But no one knows for sure anything at this point.

You do realize that the inside information that most of these "experts" have is based on what the other experts say. 90% of this forum are rooting hard for Hop to continue to be successful at UW. Gotta love the guy. But I have a feeling that if an announcement comes "by Monday" you will be deeply disappointed. And I heard this from an expert.

I'm not being a homer. If Hop lands neither McDaniels or Stewart, we probably finish near the middle or bottom of a bad conference. If we land both, along with the addition of Quade Green, we would basically be adding three 5-star kids , to go along with Nowell who is will likely be first team all Pac-12 this season. But I agree, one step at a time. I'm just saying the potential for next season could be huge if Hop lands both. Personally I think McDaniels is going to UK.

I think that could likely be the case. Evan Daniels is the lead expert at scout, he crystal balled Steawrt to UW today. Not sure if it's coincidence or others following, but just in the last few hours three Duke insiders crystal balled Stewart to UW.

I think there are like 2-3 people who have inside information from people at La Lumiere who I have their thoughts on what Stewart will do. I believe what I think dasher or RF said was correct. He probably likes Washington and loves Hop but the distance, visibility and program prestige are not great and that is what he is trying to weigh.

Don’t most coaches feel good about their chances with a recruit? But I understand the point, sounds like Stewart has a great visit at Syracuse.

A dad of one of the players on the team belongs to our UW scout forum and said he’d be surprised if Stewart didn’t come to UW.
