Class of 2025 PF/PG Jasmyn Cooper (MA) transferring to Northweatern

Good size and from her videos, a skilled, versatile player. She has skills that project for a number of positions - point guard, shooting guard, forward. Welcome Jasmyn to SU!

Hey now, we're going to have to keep that wild critter contained on the FB recruiting forum. ;)
Squirrel Come At Me Bro GIF

All kidding aside, Welcome Jasmyn to SU!

IDK. Perhaps they know that 50(?) P4 schools have more nil to spend than SU and everyone is looking for talent. Don’t know what you might get unless you take the plunge. That’s how the game is played now. Gotta be in it to win it.

Only about 10 gals a year are going to stick in the WNBA…and it ain’t gonna be you. Maximize the nil now because it’s your only payday.

Or, play for a good school, make some money and get a solid college degree and leave school with around $200k.

SU women players won awards for their great academic success. I’d like to believe that someone like Sophie has already earned her undergraduate degree and is looking for a masters in a field she hopes to use for her future while earning more $ to finance her life after college. Sad for us but perhaps a logical step for her. Credit to Coach for encouraging and promoting her players to be serious about their academics.

Again another reason it makes no sense for the younger players to leave. Coach Jack cares about them, develops them as players and people and they get a degree. I like Fran’s saying. Give me three years and get your degree. None of these younger players are going to get big nil. Is making a little more really worth throwing a good thing away. Again makes no sense.

I wasn't writing about Sophie. My thoughts are more about underclass players whose pro prospects aren't great.

I was just referring to Sophie and upperclass players. Definitely not motivation for lower rotational sophomores and especially freshman.

Why does our Transfer Portal experience feel like a NET LOSS for Syracuse? Say what you want about Cam and JAZZ, they represent Young talent that in years past, would be developed. We have only one High School player coming in next year and she was not in the top 100 of HS players. Our Portal haul so far includes a rising SR. and a GRAD STUDENT. If the wave of the future/present is to build through the portal and not HS kids, then our PORTAL RECRUITING has to get better. If Our plan is to build through HS recruiting, then that has to get better! We seem to be poorly positioned for this new era of Women's basketball in college athletics... What say you out there...all you supporters of Syracuse Women's Basketball?
