On the brightside - Cinco’s probably a pro eventually

Not sure how you survive with your LT being your worst Oline dude. But the fact that they dont really have a replacement speaks volumes.

You look at the oline play and there is the biggest issue on the team.. You cant scheme when you cant block. That will be the downfall of Dino in the end and its not like we havent changed that coaching spot up. If you cant recruit decent oline players no offense will work.

Scores over 60 mean you did your job, won more than you lost. We have 5.

Oline is the most difficult to evaluate, because they so often don't play against similar sized humans in HS. After that? Olineman are MADE by coaching. Addazio sent plenty Oline(rated like ours) to the NFL because of oline coaching. Its the most coaching/scheme dependant group on the field. Embrace that, or don't.

Duke's oline seems pretty good.

Have you seen Oregon's Oline? They lost yesterday to Washington in an incredible game that may have turned on, ( lol) a coaches decision in the last minutes of the 4th Q. Their Oline dominates and Bo Nix is everything that's been written about him. Even with the loss they belong in the playoffs. Based on what I saw yesterday, I honestly believe they would beat FSU by 3 TD's.

I did. Great game. I swore it was going into OT. I'm not sold on FSU, yet. Oregon recruits better than us. Duke? Not so much. Dunno their pff grades, but they certainly perform as a cohesive unit.

I would encourage the board NIL crew to rethink their player choice for 2024. No matter how lovely he may seem.
Pass. Just don’t know how to interpret these "grades." Enrique was far and away our top graded offensive lineman last week, but worst player on the team yesterday. o-line is very much a unit, not really individuals. That said, we gave up three sacks yesterday against a defense stacked with NFL talent and had our most impressive rushing performance of the year,

We chose Enrique based on much more than his onfield performance - he had no on field performance when we launched the program. Not going to pull the plug based on a number grade that no one really understands anyway.

I must admit to scratching my head on a number of these every week. We had 5 OL over 60 and 2 more just below? Jobity had worst score ( and a really bad one) with a sack and forced fumble ? Whatever I guess.

Its every play. You can score a few perfect 10's, but get beat on the majority? You are well below 50.

Position coaches often grade on a 1-5 scale. 3 is mehh.(50 in pff) Neither a failure or success. Below is a loss, above is execution. PFF is 1-10 leaving 10 for OMG play. Get anywhere near 90, and that's incredible. If in the 80's? VERY good.

Many coaches think pff is quite accurate.

Yeah, I get that. So,I’m still scratching my head on some of these scores after your explanation.

There is just no way that they're actually watching all these games, it makes no business sense. It's so much work, there are so many games, and like four people in America care how Syracuse long snapper graded. The fact that they grade all these games so fast indicates they're not actually doing what they pretend to

I think they are. Its $85per college subscriber. ($38 fee, + $12/ month)

I assume it’s outsourced…

we have had this discussion before. At a min you would need to watch every play 5-10 times per player to even begin to understand what happened.

11 players x 10 times x 75 plays. 8200 plays make it 5 times so 4000 plays

4000x 5 secs = 20000 secs / 60 = 300 min / 60 = 5 hrs. for one side of the ball.

they do this for 100 teams or whatever.. you would need 4 people to do a game so thats 50x4 or 200 people on staff do it in a very quick low level way..

Using better software for video review would help. Even then you are not really getting a focused view of every player unless there are a ton of views they get access 2.

They say they have 4-600 people and 10% can actually do the grading. and then 2-3% do the final review.

so if 50 people are grading the film each 1 would do one game in 5 hrs. that would mean watching each play at most 1-2 times..

There’s more than a few NFL writers who think these grades are silly. And I suspect this outfit actually puts time and effort into their NFL work.

They are. I have a buddy from college that works for PFF. His first year his assignment? The Wyoming defense.

GMAFB, he’s our guy, period end of story. Dudes a sophomore in one of the hardest positions, he will improve. Remind me never to introduce you to him, That said thank you for your support of him!

I know we have crappy film. But you could watch one whole game and watch one player and come up with a conclusion. And see what you think.. We have 25 people we could each do one..

How many are wasting 3 hrs watching the bills tonigh. You could be done by the time its over.

and there you go 1 side of the ball so 125 teams x 2 is 250 people.

And if the dudes job is one team. Then is he really getting it done sat night and has the week off?
